I had extensive conversations with the lead detective on the case today who told me that the police have an obligation to treat suspects as "though they are presume guilty when then there is probable cause, not innocent," and that "suspects who commit these crimes are extremely likely to have committed multiple crimes over their careers", without any evidence to say such, which I warned him as slander and also that the wording of the post sounds as though the defendant has already been convicted…

I was so naïve, and suing a City is very scary. I got in touch with an attorney today. The statutes of limitations may almost certainly be waived given some extremely extenuating circumstances.
