1	How many genders are there? Gender is socially determined: in much of the Western world, there are 2 'default' genders (masculine/male and feminine/female). This is not the default everywhere. Albania has 'sworn virgins', who take a vow of chastity and dress as men to live as men. The Indian subcontinent has "hijra" (which encompasses both transgender and third-gender). Etc.
