If I were in your situation, I would never let my wife see me reading anything like this. Nor should you ever discuss any of this reading with her. It's not because it might make her angry, it's because it allows her to tell herself that you got a bunch of silly ideas in your head from some book. I never let anyone know what I'm reading except good friends.
It isn't about following rules. Rules are how men who understand this stuff try to explain it to men who don't. No amount of rules will give you frame. Frame comes from understanding who you are and what your role is.
