No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. - General George S. Patton in a speech to the Third Army 5 June 1944.

There is a lot of fat out there in the world. I'm in my 60's 6' at 130 lbs and I am not looking to be crushed to death. So I feed cats.

If your client had started and stayed soft and calm your would have probably fixed his personal machine without ever realizing it or caring. What is comforting in this situation is the realization that only ~3% of the people who you meet are doing something actually meaningful.

It's nearly always a boon to change jobs. It increases your experience and value. Hell, the couple of times I was fired I thanked my employer for moving my ass out of a bad situation. You should periodically go out job shopping, especially if you are content in your job. It will give you a much better notion of your actual worth in the market and it's nice to dress up occasionally. It's also just neat to see what other people are doing and how they are doing it. Have big fun!

A radical feminist who believes that transsexual "women" are in fact men and thereby excluded from the class of women. They are not wrong. Hope this helps.

The only useful thing I learned in school was a typing class I took in HS in the late 60's. I got out of the Navy in the early 70's and talked to a Caltech graduate about taking EE classes at Stanford. He told me to subscribe and read Electronics magazine from cover to cover every week rather than wallowing in outdated information. It worked for me.

I'm old and disabled enough that I shop by mail. You can get literally anything delivered. A while back I ordered some tines to turn a front-end loader into a forklift. Got them in under a week and I didn't have to go anywhere. Air delivery via drones will be replaced (or never happen) by autonomous delivery vehicles. The cost of the drone goes up as the lift capacity increases. Drones are also incredibly susceptible to interference, especially if they are held to low altitudes which seems to be…

Roger that. I was a self employed consulting engineer until the IRS told me that I had to enslave myself to some legislator's brother-in-law running a job shop so they could rake off 40% of the gross for undertaking the onerous task of managing my money. Pissed me off mightily.

The beauty part for me of GMOW is not having to listen to some woman blather on to hear the sound of her own voice. I find silence very comfortable. I think it's important to realize the kind of people who willingly serve as functionaries of the state. Think about your last trip to the DMV. The employees are hugely entitled, often minorities, hamplanets and other weirdos who feel obligated to make decisions about your life. They actually believe that they know better about how to spend your money than you do. To expect honesty, or even simple human decency from those people is delusional.

And not just poor spelling for this educator of youth. She seems to have capitalization problems too (as in Capitalize the first word in a paragraph and you are done for the day). Also shows a poor understanding of the use of ' in contractions. Also minus points bigtime for failing to capitalize the first person singular (just reeks of snotty superiority). Upbringing and circumstances are half the damn equation. Roger that big time. What I find particularly distressing is the fact that most young people are not tool users. I dunno, I like my company. I lived with my father for the last six years of his life, and it was wonderful. I cook well (it's tangible love) and was delighted to be able to serve him to begin to repay the debt I have to the man. It was nice to be around someone who understood physics and chemistry and the ways of the world. I've lived alone for about 10 months now and it's pretty comfortable too. Specifically it was the Department of Pre-Crime which used three telepaths to predict future crime. The disagreement of one of the telepaths is what is referred to as a "minority report" which is key to the plottening development. Agents are sent into the field to ensure the predicted crime does not happen. P. K. Dick could have gotten a lot more twisty here for my taste. Since the agents averted the pre-crime, it didn't take place. Why did the teeps see it when it hadn't taken place? Maybe I'm …

I'm an old guy, having clocked 65 winters on this rock. I pay attention in public and I have heard catcalling few enough times to count it on the fingers of one hand with plenty of digits left over. I've lived all over this country so I don't think it was a regional outbreak of good manners. Frankly, I think that the problem is wildly overstated and wonder at the nature of those pusing this agenda.

The sad reality is that women are for the most part vain shallow creatures who are much more interested in how things appear rather than how they function. The lavish praise that social media heaps on them daily only serves to reinforce their bad behavior. Social media is cancer.

Working out surely helps. It gets your mind focused on reality rather than your problems. Meditation should help, but most people will focus on the problem rather than mindfulness (more properly mindlessness). It's really hard to stop thinking. The best advice I can give is to find something that fascinates you and throw yourself fully into it. Then you no longer have the time for anger and hatred. Get busy being totally engaged in something. Hope this helps.

Colorado is fabulous. There once was an aerobatic competition held at Telluride. Utah, parts of Idaho, Nevada and California are quite lovely. Anywhere you can get a couple of thousand feet of vertical can be flown. The coasts are nice because of a predictable onshore breeze that starts about 1 pm. Add that to vertical cliffs like at Pacifica and Fort Funston south of the San Francisco Zoo and you have lift all afternoon that is as smooth as a baby's ass.
