Yeah lol the “encounter” sounds incredibly lame now that you mention it. But yeah, I want her back. But isn’t the whole point of this sub to remain cool and act like I don’t care one way or another if it works out? I’m trying the “fake it til you make it” approach, I suppose.

Plot twist. I’m gay and live in the country. Edit: no joke

It’s definitely a weird scenario. And the “friends” thing doesn’t make much sense, but from my perspective, I couldn’t remain friends forever. Really I see this as a new getting to know each other phase. When we first met, it was a date. But now, it’s more of a phase before potentially dating. I don’t mean to brag about anything I’ve accomplished this year. Really, it’s not all that impressive. Just basic living stuff that I should’ve been doing all along. I’ve been on an app (where I originally met my ex) but haven’t had any luck connecting with anyone. No dates.

When we broke up, we planned to take time apart. (5-6 months). So it’s sort of understood between us both that we should meet up again soon. I started a bit of texting back in May. And now we have a reason to meet up after our last text (a restaurant that my ex loves just opened up near me for delivery)

I don’t think that’s the case the everyone. My parents broke up for 18 months before getting back together. They were happily married until my Dad passed. I don’t want life for my ex and I to “resume” as it was. My life was a mess when we started dating, and it only went downhill. It was a bad idea to seek a relationship when I did. I generally think my ex and I are a great fit, and now that my life is “on the up,” I’m curious to see if it’ll work out between us.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
