Thank you. I'm not looking to jump into a relationship with someone I barely know, I'd like to get to know them and have some fun along the way before I figure out if this is a person I want to be committed to. I thought this was a commonly accepted thing, do girls think that just bc a guy shows an interest in them that he's automatically trying to wife them, or are they just covering their bases?

I used to experience the same thing. Your issue tlis that you are acting (or really failing to act) out of fear. Fear that you will make yourself look dumb and potentially ruin your chances with said person.
