I can only speak personally, but after 10 years divorced from my second wife I can confidently say I should have never gotten married to either one of them. I like the real life examples both speakers in the video give of people placing themselves in legal jeopardy merely from what they said to police, and how the police used what was said. Also, it really hits home that even the speaker who is/was a cop agreed with the lawyer that you should never talk to the police. I just wanted to get it over with, so she got to stay in the house though the mortgage was in my name, got the truck though it was mostly paid off before we met, all the furniture, etc. In hindsight, I wish I had fought for everything I could have.

Depending on what state you live in, even if you started divorce proceedings now, you may have to be married a certain period of time before the state will consider it. Also, you may have to be separated a certain amount of time before you are allowed to complete the divorce. In all cases, if you want out, talk to a lawyer. While I would agree that we as a society might urge certain gender-specific behaviors on our children, I disagree with this woman's idea that it's an "Era of Angry Men". Then why are some alimony payments so outrageously high? When did keeping the same "standard of living" that the man provided become a need? I can see giving someone enough to get a suitable (but not lavish) apartment where ever they happen to live until they can get a job and support themselves, but that's not a requirement of the court system that they even gain employment, or look for better/full time work.
