I love me a good slow clap

I hear that a lot in the church, but I don’t understand why. There are plenty of healthy families where the men and women act as equals and they’re both happy. People will argue and say it’s how to worked in the past so it’s how it should be now. But in the past marital rape wasn’t considered real rape, women literally had to submit to their husbands and stay home because they had no other options available to them. Why does society function better when men lead?

I know, that’s why I posted it. I wanted to read a different perspective and honestly know what the appeal is from people who are living that kind of lifestyle. I genuinely don’t understand.

It kind of sounds like you’re dating a child. This might be really bad advice, but I’d say don’t lie to him. Tell him what’s in it and if he refuses to eat it let him make his own damn dinner.

That’s what I really liked about her story though. I feel like “getting revenge” by keying their car or trashing their apartment, or even doing something little like throwing their breakfast on the floor gives them some sort of justification in their head. Cheating is never acceptable, but to them they’ll justify it because their ex was crazy, even if it’s one little act of revenge at the end. If someone cheats on me I don’t want to give them any way to justify it.

My ex would forbid me from wearing revealing clothes because it was disrespectful to him and other guys would look. All the while throughout our entire relationship I found out he had been liking bikini pics from dozens of different women (many Instagram models)

I agree, but I also think it adds an extra something to the story. It shows her ex she was there and she knew exactly what he was doing. I also think it speaks to her character a bit. She was caring and she bought him a gift, and she still let him keep it. Everytime he saw it he would’ve thought of her and what he had screwed up. She didn’t get revenge, she just left because he wasn’t worth it. I think it’s inspiring

Oh that’s no good! I’ve dated clingy guys before and it stresses me out because I like my space at times. I watched a bunch of their other videos and I didn’t really get the vibe from him that he had to be with her 24/7 or anything. It just seemed like he was joking around and genuinely liked being around her friends

Yeah I’ve watched some of their other videos and I don’t get the vibe from him that he has to do everything with her and won’t let her out of his sight. He just seems like a sweetheart

I guess to some people it’d seem really clingy. I just thought it was sweet that he genuinely seems to love her friends.

I totally get how you’d see it that way. I was thinking it’s super sweet that he genuinely seems to love her friends

I keep seeing stuff like this, but why is it wrong to have your mattress on the floor? I’m a girl and I sleep on a mattress on the floor. It seems a bit silly to spend hundreds of dollars on a frame (that I could save or invest) when I’m perfectly comfortable either way

It’s so bizarre to me that either way she’s supposed to give up her career in chemical engineering, even if she were to decide not to date lmao

So true. I told my ex about my childhood trauma and he was the most supportive guy ever. Until he started acting like my dad, and gaslighting me by telling me he wasn’t and I was just projecting that on him. It was horrible

He unfortunately did not provide peer reviewed sources supporting his claims on women biologically being more happy when submissive. Such a shame :(

Oh I have in the past! It’s just that this guy waited 6 months to show his real colors. Made it a bit trickier for me I guess

Im definitely not going to go back to him. It’s really hard though because he was such a big part of my life. Honestly he made my life revolve entirely around him. If I wasn’t at work I was basically expected to text him constantly (unless I texted him a time frame that I’d be gone, like 20 min to take a shower, 1 hour to eat dinner with my family, etc.. if I didn’t meet the time frame he’d get upset with me). It got to the point that he wanted me to FaceTime him 24/7 and go about my day so he c…

He told me once that there was no reason that anyone should break up and that any issue could be worked out. I responded that for certain issues sure, but abuse is a hard no for me. I added that if he ever hit me the relationship would be over immediately. That upset him, because he might just hit me once and not be in control of himself and it would never happen again

Oh but didn’t you see? He doesn’t include himself in the whole guy picture lol

I actually asked him about that and he was upset with me for starting an argument since I’m not bi

Yeah i did end up dumping him two weeks ago since his behavior kept escalating. He did a lot of gaslighting though, so it’s kind of hard not to second guess myself, like was I really crazy and a horrible girlfriend?

I know! He went on to say “I just have a real problem with everyone wearing them. And I’m not sure if you could understand because you’re not a male. But I don’t want to see the outline women’s body parts and I shouldn’t have to constantly avoid looking down in order to not see that” Like his inability from being able to stop from ogling a woman’s ass is her problem?

Yes it’s absolutely ridiculous! I’m religious myself, but I wouldn’t dream of imposing my standards on someone else

Oh very religious, just the classic fundamentalist conservative christian. Someone who’d fit right in over at r/RPchristians

This was from last year; I grew up in a very conservative Christian home and had much less of a backbone at that point. He was in my Spanish class so I couldn’t avoid him. We never dated, though he frequently made his interest clear and basically told me I wasn’t a real Christian/submissive enough for believing in bodily autonomy. Additionally, he told me that real Christians don’t dress their dogs in clothes or have instagrams for them. This guy was just a religion gatekeeper basically, but I d…
