I agree with you completely. She had come to me after a fight and said “I’m just done”. Any attempt at conversation or reconciliation turned into an argument. I tried and begged her to at least try to put effort in for about a month but nothing helped. In the end she didn’t even bother trying therapy, couples counselling, or even an intervention by her family members to give her a reality check. I can’t say for sure if I’m better off now, but I am just at peace. But imo I’m sure that “I’m done” …

Glad to hear that I’m not the only thinking this, thought maybe something broken in my head. But I guess it is just a healthy realization, or trauma. Either way just makes us reiterate protecting ourselves in the future. Hopefully another women I meet one day won’t be too pissed at me for taking things really slow and not opening up right away.

That’s part of my issue, don’t think time will ever possibly change my capacity to do it, even if I wanted to.

I never thought of it that way, it's blatantly true. Hate how society is so catered to women in relationships and life. Men often get the shortest straw and are told to deal with and make it work for them. Can only hope that there's a woman out there who sees it differently, but in reality I now only feel like most relationships are opportunistic and for reproduction, not a true love or "ride or die". Thanks.

Thanks for your harsh truth, I needed to hear it. I’m obviously not at that point yet, a lot more ups and downs to go through first. But you are right, I need to be able to put my memories and emotions aside at some point for my own future happiness. Easier to say than do though. At least now I feel like I’d be more prepared for the betrayals of life. Thanks 🙏🏽

That’s true, if someone told me 3 years ago about how this marriage would end and how my ex would change, I wouldn’t believe them. But it would still be true. I guess you’re right.

Not the hero this city wanted. But the hero this city needed. 🫡

I’m at about the exact same space. I don’t want to be resentful to all women, but it’s been taking a toll on me. Glad you’ve been able to be up front about it, that’s respectable, hope I can do that too.

Thanks for the optimism. I can’t imagine going through that, I’ve had my suspicions of my ex cheating, but no proof. I 100% agree on never wanting to get married again and not living together with a woman again.

I guess these are truths about life we all realize one day. I feel you on missing partner, but not one i had to take care of. Wish love was optimistic to me in the future but doesn’t seem like it, hope I can just find someone independent who’s chill and can respect me and space.

I feel the exact same way that no future heart ache will ever feel as gut wrenching as this has been. I enjoyed marriage, miss my best friend, wouldn’t mind dating for a gf again but don’t think I’m open to a marriage again. I also don’t think I’ll ever have the feeling of “my person” again if I’m being honest. Even though I want to. I can only pray for unclouded eyes, and I don’t feel like I hate women, I just hate 1 woman as of now 😂. Hopefully that number doesn’t grow

My first two months were a forced in-house too and it fucking sucked. Now in separate spaces and my mental health is a lot better. Thanks for sharing, glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. I do hope one day to love again, but just won’t ever be shocked or invest myself into it as much as a did before. Still not open to it yet though.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
