How about in smaller cities (population 100,000-300,000)? While there are fewer women to choose from, there's also less male competition.

Well said. Big cities kick the hypergamous instinct into overdrive.

Except men do the initiating (mostly) and women do the choosing (mostly). Bigger population means more choices for women AND men, but it's ultimately men who Ask and women who decide Yes/No (mostly). A woman can't possibly date all the men who message her and ask her out, so she naturally must be more choosy. Meanwhile, a woman in a small city/town may only get a handful of messages. She might give a guy a chance because she doesn't have many other prospects lined up.

What makes you say that Indian women are more feminist than East Asian women? Just curious.

Why doesn't this extend to South Asian (Indian) women?

Women tend to fetishize men as much as men fetishize women. And in a liberal but homogenous town, being perceived as "exotic" is not such a bad deal, and I know of minorities who punch above their weight due to this factor.

Are you Indian? Just curious. Not to take away from what you're saying, but I've found it to be the opposite - as have most of my Indian guy friends. Women in locations with tons of Indian guys tend to harbor negative prejudices towards them. Not so much women who live in cities with few or no Indians (due to lack of exposure). And I think I can speak to this as an Indian guy whose lived in both big cities and (progressive) small towns.

I also wanted to say that I've had experience dating native-born white Canadian girls in the past when I lived a mostly white college town in Canada. What I found with the native-born white girls I dated is that they grew up in small cities or towns, did not have much exposure to Indians in the past, and therefore did not harbor any negative preconceived stereotypes towards Indian guys as a result. Therefore I was able to operate from a neutral, blank state and fly under the radar as a sort of "…

My perception is the best places for Indian guys are where the population is relatively homogenous, but are also very liberal/deep blue states. People here don't have enough exposure to minorities to form negative stereotypes, but are also very liberal in outlook and interested in different cultures. Regions that come to mind: - New England - Pacific Northwest - Upper Midwest College towns are ideal as they attract educated, liberal, progressive-minded people who should be most open to dating in…

My experience is that people who don't have a lot of exposure to Indians (ie. small town folk) may be taken aback by my outward appearance (a combination of curiosity, animosity and perhaps fear). Once I open my mouth people don't treat me any differently. Not having an accent, being good at small talk and sounding like a whitebread suburban American (or in my case Canadian) certainly goes a long way. They may even be charmed - this may be the first time they met a "cool" Indian guy with a Canad…

Here's Paul Janka's dating philosphy: "Take my word for it since I’ve spent years doing the research (or do it yourself and waste time): you will gain nothing by talking longer and possibly you’ll torpedo the opportunity. Once you’ve gotten her number, move on. First of all, it’s likely that you’ll say something that works against you. The “stranger” light is blinking in her head and plenty can disqualify you. If you’ve got the number, you’ve already been qualified – what more do you want? As I’…

One huge advantage he has is the lack of a "sing-songy" voice. His tone is carefully measured while avoiding being monotone. In the past I have had to fight the tendency of a "sing-songy" voice, one that reveals too much emotion. Too much gesticulation and too wide a vocal range. Women subconsciously perceive that as having a feminine feel to it. Janka has mastered vocal tone. It probably comes completely natural to him.

You may find your results differ, but in two independent data sets (mine and that of a friend) the following rule holds: I fuck 11% of the girls whose number I get. I work hard and “number close” a hundred girls and I’m rewarded with sex with eleven of them. By the way, the number seems to hold over a large sample size, so my advice is get the numbers of the hottest girls you can, because it makes no difference: you’ll still fuck 11% of them. What do we make of this number, eleven? It’s just bar…

I've been flaked by girls with whom I've had 2 hour+ instant dates with off cold approach. I also just banged a girl with whom my initial interaction was probably 8 minutes at the most, and where I did most of my gaming over text and phone. What does that tell you? Now did I wish I had spent those 2 hours approaching more girls? In my experience there's a point of diminishing returns, when the marginal utility of spending any more time in set is negligible and you're better off using that time t…
