Mostly agree. Except for this: you assume the singularity will turn out well. There's a chance it will not. If the AI which becomes superintelligent has a bad objective, it will be bad for us. It's a butterfly effect. One error in it's initial conditions and once it's loose we lose control. For example: Say you make an AI and tell it "mostly continually improve itself and with a small amount of your resources maximize my happiness." Good for you, shit for other people. I'd posit that in most cases, it's beneficial to use and rely on these 'covert contracts'. You can see them the same way you would see any public technology. In your case, your goal is essentially the elimination of these 'technologies' and the realization of the self-sufficient man. But in most other cases, the continued use of these technologies is beneficial to achieving your purpose.
