If she was putting you off for a month or more then yeah, I’d be concerned she didn’t find you as attractive as the other guy. However, she was drunk then, and it sounds like things have been getting hotter between you guys as things have progressed after just a few dates. If you had your own apartment, things might have “happened” already, but it sounds like it’s purely logistics at this point. Make an effort to find a way to be alone (and not in a car) and you’ll be rewarded. Just make sure yo…

I would say lean into it a bit. Show that you’re not afraid of women and know what you want, but you’re not aggressive. In my experience, confidence and direct engagement with her eyes is where it’s at, while throwing in the occasional joke. So many people today are so afraid of engaging women directly, it’s rather sad. GenZ is practically a lost cause. https://relevantmagazine.com/life5/relationships/45-percent-of-guys-18-25-have-never-asked-a-girl-out-in-person/

People change. Circumstances are different. Fair enough if it’s been years since you’ve had a ONS. However, a ONS with somebody else within say the last year or two, and holding out now for a month or more would never go over well with a guy. You could say “you’ve changed” all you want to that guy, but your past is your past and if you make a guy wait for more than a couple dates and he finds out you engaged in sex sooner in your recent past, then that potential relationship is over. Try to defe…

Here’s the thing - one of you would need to text first in order for things to continue. But it’s sort of like negotiating, I guess - the expression is “he who gives a number first loses”. I don’t necessarily think women should have to respond / text first, but whoever does “shows their card” by indicating they like the other person. Personally, as a guy, I would most likely respond first. However, you taking a stand that you will never respond first after being invited over as a guest? That seem…

No, this backfires big time for women. After they’ve been in a relationship with a guy for a year and the guy finds out from her friends that the woman held out on him but gave it up freely for a ONS when on vacation or out clubbing in a different city just the month or two before, the guy will drop her so fast because he’ll either think she’s been playing games / manipulating him this whole time, or else she’s settled for him (because he’d make a good provider and get her to her kids only) but …

Why would you ever hold back on a guy you really like? That will backfire big time. If you did ever get serious and engage in sex with a guy only after a month of dating him and then he finds out later you gave it up to some random dude for a ONS because you just wanted to have fun, he will not see this as anything positive. He’ll think 1) you’ve been playing games with him, trying to manipulate him by holding out or 2) you really didn’t like him / find him as hot as the random dude. This is one…

And now that you know it could have been a test, would you act in exactly the same way (refuse to text first) if you found yourself in this situation again?

Rule 1: Match her energy. Don’t text a lot more than her or a lot less. Let each response be similar in length to hers. Rule 2: Don’t ask questions when setting up dates. Instead, when trying to schedule something, let the questions be assumed. For instance: “I was thinking of taking you out for Italian food this Thursday at 6 pm.” Let her respond to that statement in the affirmative or negative. Women prefer decisive guys and a lot of unnecessary questions looks weak. If she starts asking you q…

Tomorrow (Monday), make a joke about her asking if you like plants (indicating if you have any or not, uphill battle keeping them alive, etc.), but keep it short. Then, if you don’t hear back from her before early Tuesday evening, message her: “I’m thinking of [xxxx restaurant] at 6pm on Thursday for our next time out together.” Stop asking her questions. She hasn’t committed to a time yet because she wants to know where you plan on taking her first. Give her the chance to respond to this text. …

It depends on how often they’re dating. I’m assuming they’re seeing one another only once or twice a week. In OP’s case, they’ve only had 4 dates so far. Two months at twice a week would be 8 or 9 dates. That seems reasonable to me.

Don’t do it. Too many bad things could go wrong. You need to solidify things with her first, over a period of at least two to three months.

Agreed. Unless you yourself saw this as just a ONS, the only way to counter this anti-slut defense mechanism is to tell her the next morning how special the time was, how amazing she was, how you feel really honored that she would share herself with you in that way, and that you yourself would like to now step back just a bit to get to know her better. Hopefully you can get all this out before she says anything.
