Yeah if the kid is making a big deal about it, then perhaps. But idk, if I think my kid is being rude to a relative by refusing to hug them, I might investigate or possibly reprimand them if they really are just being rude. I don't agree with the whole concept of "bodily autonomy" for kids. Like I don't agree that a parent is abusive for spanking or otherwise handling their child, at least up to a certain age. Probably around 6 or 7.

If my grandma hugged me without asking when I was a little kid I would have thought nothing of it

It's very interesting. If the allegations against her are true, it is possible that she emphasized "consent" as a concept to be used with kids because she viewed them as fully actualized sexual beings in some sense. Either way, it's incredibly weird for someone to treat "giving nana a hug" as something that would cross some kind of sexual boundary and therefore require verbal consent. It's giving "ask for a baby's consent before you change their diaper" energy.

This is not even true and informed by sexist stereotypes lol. Men 100% don’t like emotional cheating either.

Okay you definitely said men, not just the men in this comment section. Misandry is just as lame as mysogyny, though maybe not as common.

Thats a very freudian view to take, and not the only option on hand in psychology. The drive to reproduce is very important, but it can be mastered, if not at least redirected in ways that are healthier than others.

“Loneliness and depression in lonely men can also be treated using pills anyway” this sentence of emblematic of your entire sentiment. Let’s just medicate and get a quick artificial fix for all our problems. We’ll see how well that turns out. Have you read Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World? It was the precursor to 1984, and in it humanity is controlled by falling prey to a regime that uses easily accessible sensory delights, including drugs and a type of multimedia pornography, as a means of pacif…

Its been shown to affect motivation by fucking with the dopamine baseline. Basically its not natural for your brain to experience getting laid at the touch of button. Who would’ve thought?

I’m sorry but what does her status as an “intersectional feminist” have to do with the story? She didn’t reference that as the reason the plane had to be nut free, did she?

Talking about parental certainty is outside of the scope of the conversation. We are talking about the act of cheating itself, not the consequences. Think. In a world where birth control is a thing (our world currently) would it still matter if you cheat and it produces no offspring? This is sloppy reasoning. “Men are the pursuers” should actually make it worse when men cheat, because the act of dating takes more time and effort, and hence more space within which to contemplate the action. Your …

Really? I felt like it was a great portrait of how that kind of a relationship (the one with margot robbie) is doomed to fail. Its been a while since I watched the film but Jordan is not the unequivocal hero. He has a gift no doubt but he screws everyone over along the way, including his colleagues.

I have a male friend who recently had sex on a tinder hookup and still experiences depression and feels like a failure with women because he hasn’t been able to maintain a stable long term relationship. Guys value emotional intimacy as well, no doubt about it.

Yeah im gonna say that just posting a video of a girl getting punched doesn’t qualify as “pussy pass denied.” Unless you think all women inherently have a pussy pass and every time one gets hurt it evens the score. Which would be pretty misogynistic…

This is literally the entire incel mentality in a nutshell. They cry that "nobody" will sleep with them but in reality it's because of their standards as well. There could totally be someone out there who would date them, but they focus on petty shit like most girls not being virgins, while simultaneously bemoaning the fact that they themselves are. There is just no way that 95% of these guys couldn't find a girl if they would just lower the same standards that they accuse women of having.
