Quick update of facts, the judge of the case informed the jury of Texas' "sudden passion" clause, but as was reported by multiple courts news announcements, the jury chose not to consider the clause. The clause would have reduced the max sentence to 2-20 years instead of 5 years-life.

26 of the last 27 mass shooters were not raised by their fathers. More patriarchy would probably mean fewer mass shootings and gun violence. These "men" were never taught to be a real man by a strong male role model (a dad in this case). Thanks again crappy journalists for making the case for the importance of patriarchy in a moral society.
