Firstly, as a non-believer I do not come from the starting point of "there is a god" and "the Bible is true". You interpreted my point as to the behavior of people, but I really meant the interpretations of the scripture are different between denominations. Therefore, the "not absolute" thing is true. If you're Catholic, there are very different requirements for Heaven than, say, Southern Baptists, Mormonism, or whatever. For some, accepting Jesus is all you need to do. It sounds like you're saying the valid interpretation of any given denomination is the truth. It motivates people to do things in their lives that may or may not reflect proper moral behavior.
