As I’ve said elsewhere, I’m not going to hire someone if they have several rape allegations to their name. I seriously doubt you would either.

Why did you pick the only one that happens to be republican? I didn’t pick them because they’re Republican. They’re the only outlet that consistently uses that phrase. It has nothing to do with being Republican, but maybe youmre on to something.

If someone applies to work for me and they have several pending allegations of rape publicly hanging over them, I'm not going to hire them. You're lying if you say you would.

I don't really understand this whole "mainstream media" line. Fox News, the entity that parrots that line the most is itself the most popular news network in the country. There is no other network more "mainstream."

Great that I live in a country where I can conceal carry (almost) anywhere Boasting that you live in a place that warrants the carrying of a concealed weapon for your protection is pretty stupid.

I had a very similar experience about 3 years ago. An obese coworker walked by my desk one afternoon and for some reason gave me a look of disgust and announced “you’re fat” to me. i responded simply with “you too,” and was called into hr about 10 minutes later. i was given a warning.

I would think that such a list would make them easier targets. That is, a rapist has a list of people they know won't be taken as seriously if they're raped.

it's not about the logistics or morality, it's about satiating the prison industrial complex that has a vested interest in the conviction of many. this is in part the reason for the war on drugs, it's politically sold as social reform by keeping drugs out but it's just removing undesirables. prisons and law enforcement win, and that gives our political friends more martial control when things get out of hand. our small neighboring town's police are armed like a small militia and possess a tank.

feminism was a social movement that had its objectives met. now, for the sake of self-preservation, it has become more of a brand and ideology that seeks less to reform economic injustices, but more to sell and market itself to, frankly, people that are insecure about themselves and feel that perpetual "empowerment" is required for a "minority" group that takes up more than half of the world population and are "strong" and just as good if not better than their male counterparts

The other day I was walking back to work from my lunchbreak, and this guy better dressed than my office clothes, sitting at a table outside a gourmet salad restaurant called me over and told me he was hungry and gestured for me to buy him food. His attitude and his general appearance clashed so much with the request that I didn't know what to make of it. Across the street was a Subway where he could get a decent sized sandwhich for cheap, but no, he wanted me to get him a $20+ organic salad. He …

i was just recounting an incident in college when a housemate urinated all over herself because she didn't realize the lid was down before releasing her fluids. the most jarring thing about that incident was that she came to me screaming about how it was my fault and responsibility to leave the toilet seat down AND lid up 🖕

i was sharing a house with some women in college and out of habit i would put the seat and the lid down because i didn't like the idea of items accidentally falling in or pets getting into the bowl despite us not having pets. well, one night i got yelled at because one of my housemates wandered into the bathroom in the dark, lowered her bottoms and sat on the lid and urinated all over herself.

how can feminists argue for equality while they simultaneously paint woman as such weak and fear driven creatures? "Is preventing violent assault or murder part of your daily routine, rather than merely something you do when you venture into war zones? Because, for women, it is" "When I go on a date, I always leave the man’s full name and contact information written next to my computer monitor. This is so the cops can find my body if I go missing. alimony in itself is basically the affirmation in law that women are completely incapable of providing for themselves. (how his ex survived before him, nobody knows) so long that this law exists and can be cited, absolutely no issue or claim fighting for equality can be made without effort being made to dismantle it. as the law currently stands, does anybody know if his death would result in his would-be widow having to pay alimony to his ex? if not: 'then who will provide for that poor ex?' - i…

i've mentioned this thing before and have received considerable backlash. the general stance is that you cannot take away rights of someone because they are pregnant, reasonably so, that would be a form of discrimination. what is however disregarded almost always is that this is in effect for the protection of the child. one would argue that a line should be drawn, but i've unfortunately only heard arguments from people that would rather put themselves first over their child- it was actually in …

so, my ex was a pretty emotional girl. she would break down crying for just about anything (except when one of her grandparents passed away strangely enough). one time she had a fit because she missed the bus to go on a weekend band trip and was all water works. everytime i would comfort her and it would be as if normal. one day i was really beaten to the ground- my dog had just died while i was preparing my final final project. here i am having to justify it, but i silently broke down in my roo…

if it is dying, i don't think it's through significant effect of a counter movement. i think they're doing it to themselves. they're becoming more of a hate group whose message is in part contradictory and surprisingly offensive to some women. they're getting worse as they try to cover more ground and i think that's becoming more and more apparent to people

what many of these people fail to realize is that a very small percentage of men make it to the top. they are suggesting that we punish them and everyone of the same gender regardless of their actual circumstances. why aren't women just as prominent at the top? i don't know- there could be any number of reasons worth discussing, but it stands to reason that men and women are both capable of starting their own businesses and through considerable toil and effort be successful in their own right. i…

isn't female genital mutilation relatively uncommon in the states? worldwide i know it's certainly an issue, but why even bring it up if that's not what otherwise is being discussed? why can't we look at it as a general issue and discuss it regardless of gender as it should be?

it's an interesting question, what part of it all makes you responsible as a potential parent? is it the genetic material or the sex? you can put a child up for adoption and adopt, so genetics don't particularly matter so far as the definition of parenting goes on a side, i don't understand how a man is still obligated to pay for support so long that the decision to keep the child belongs exclusively to the woman- this is the most extreme example of that

i hope i'm wrong on this, but my gut feeling based off of what i've heard leads me to believe that in these sorts of things, the mother is almost always the one who kills a child. why even is that? also perhaps the instance of neglectful mothers being reported more often, but i get this feeling that mothers are far more abusive than fathers is something i can't shake. am i the only one that sees it this way?
