I never even said the word "men" lolol

Never said anything about that. Humans can have preferences yeah, sure, but sexual history (unless it pertains to std risk levels) isn't information that anyone else is entitled to.

The spread of white Christians to Africa... it's history.

Evolutionary? Rooted in the past, where many societies were dominated and controlled by men and their whims? Society is different now, where individuals have a lot more freedom, to do and feel what they want to. So, why I say gender roles are outdated. We don't need certain people to like, "stay in their lane" simply bc of th traditions of previous societies.

Humans aren't as easily dichotomized as society wants us to believe haha but go ahead believing in such strong division. Gender is a largely European concept that was forced upon societies and then spread to America. It's not as universal as we're led to think.

I don't disagree entirely, but universal gender-based roles are antiquated.

Huh, it just sounded like you were in support of a dynamic along the lines of that, with your mention of being confused as to why judgment from promiscuous men onto promiscuous women is hypocritical

Oh just this thread and the attitudes on here are hypocritical. Guess I misinterpreted your specific comment. I definitely find the notion of body count double standards hypocritical as fuck though haha, which seems to matter for a lot of people here

Yeah, I mean humans should split up responsibility evenly and also both pursue their own income. Otherwise it likely will lead to one being dependent on the other, that shit ain't healthy.

Tasks refer to things that need to be done. Roles are positions taken on by people, with regard to expectations. Yeah, I'd think that that's where good communiaton comes in: to discuss the workload between the people in a relationship, making sure the tasks are divided up relatively evenly and that partners are on the same page about what each prefers to do and can stick to. I'm all about the responsible communication and dissemination of gender roles; gives everyone more freedom and feel valued…

What kind of situations would one "walk into" in which their "livelihood is financed by another human"? 🤔 Are you referring to someone moving into another's living place, without having a job and therefore financially depending on the other?

Distributed evenly. Those aren't roles, they're tasks that need to get done. It's about compromising who wants to do what, making sure that both people pull their weight.

Work should evenly fall upon both partners, no matter what their sex and/or gender. Yeah, I bring up that outdated tradition bc it's been around and defaulted to for centuries, and is sexist, just like the rest of this thread tbh. It's antiquated and toxic.

People make connections, therefore may engage in romantic and/or sexual and/or platonic experiences with who they meet, and the depth of those relationships vary so much. For you to use that double standard of yours is hella dismissive of the depth of experiences people have. But to each their own, if you want a cookie cutter, 1950s-esque gender roles, "man goes to work and pretends he doesn't experience emotion and has excuse to 'be disagreeable bc stereotypical manly man", "woman is only usefu…

"It's not hypocritical for a man to care about it". You're making excuses for your sexist af views by creating a double standard lol. In denial of your own hypocrisy.

Humans aren't so easily dichotomized as society has programmed us to believe. It sounds like a lot of people in this r/ are suuuper into sexist gender roles and are borderline misogynistic, and yes, hypocritical, basing their "validity" for that view on the fact they were born the sex the identify as, and "that's how it is". People are complex and nuanced as FUCK, and your view sounds quite dismissive of this fact and reductive to the vast individuality of humans.

That's what I'm wondering. This thread reeks of sexism and I'm confused as to how suc stupidity exists

Also I don't know what you mean by relationship "roles". Sounds like an outdated concept in older generation's sexism, which don't help anybody.

For example, when on a date, both of are asking each other questions and being curious about getting to know the other. (Went on a very one-sided date the other night, and I was the only one asking him aything...he's been super attractive otherwise, but my interest just disappeared bc of me having to carry the conversation, getting 1-word or short responses) If you guys text each other the same amount. Think about the actions and amount of communication you have with someone, and gauge if it's a…
