Yeah I think the idea of baking is still seen as feminine, yet in the average bakers in the UK the owner/head baker is nearly always a man. I think you're right; cooking is just a complicated subject where stereotypes kinda fail.

In the UK there's also a 'celebrity' called Katie Piper who was disfigured by her ex-boyfriend (sulphuric acid is a horrible way I know, I'm not advocating it), but right now she has a career and is extremely well-known because of the actions - I guess this is a similar case from the opposite gender?
