I agree with not bringing it up. Not at first. Give it time to play out, you don't want to rush into sex anyway. Guys will lie (sometimes with good intentions) to tell you what you want to hear. Also he's 32? Kind of a red flag. Why is he still single and inexperienced? These are natural topics of discussion that can come up on dinner dates. Casually ask about his history, remember you're getting to KNOW him to see if he's worth a long term relationship - you're not in a long term relationship o…

Oh my god he calls the pile of sh** NESTING MATERIALS I'm dead lmao!! My boyfriend jokes that I like to make a nest out of blankets to sleep on, which is true. Pillows hurt my neck, so I like to nest around a blanket (or two.... Or three when it's cold) so I can get the perfect fit under my head and around my body for support. But that is on my clean af bed, with my white bleached sheets, and my regularly washed nesting blankets, and I have plenty of pillows to decorate the bed with or lay on wh…

"He gets off on knowing that he can do shit like this to you, and you're so in lurrrv with him, you'll put up with it. He has you so gassed up that when you confront him, all he has to do is roll over and say BUt tHiS iS WhO i ReALLy Am BaBE - and you'll believe it! You'll believe his "true self" sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in screeching falsetto on repeat for hours. And you'll walk away thinking what an honor it is that he felt comfortable enough to share his true self with you like that.…

No, he definitely doesn't want me to leave him, I definitely know men who have done this to me and others, but he definitely wants me. He's just being weird as hell, I think he likes the power trip and gets off on pushing me and then feeling like he has me so trapped I won't leave even if he's being annoying / rude / gross / childish. It's a test. And I'm done playing.

Oh my god this comment gave me so many light bulb moments. He's literally testing to see how much he can irk and abuse me. That is the feeling, what I couldn't put my finger on, he's like.... Trapping me all day, wasting my time, being annoying as hell, and has this edge of him gloating. He's succeeded and he enjoys this. I can see it so clearly. He marches around screeching, and likes watching me squirm and feel unable to leave. He thinks he has me trapped and he's f***ing reveling in it. My bl…

Thank you for taking the time to lay this out! This is exactly what my soul was looking for / needing sis, much much much appreciated. And thank you for the reminder that I don't actually have to be direct any more. I don't have to communicate until I'm exhausted and crying and depressed and questioning if my needs are valid. He's being annoying as shit. He knows it. I'm just going to fade on him and he can figure it the f*** out.

Ugh, thank you!! This was such a dose of tough love but I NEEDED IT! No wonder I feel crazy lmao, this shit is insane and idk how he got me so wrapped around his finger. Honestly I've BEEN in therapy (raised by narcissists heyyy) and they were the one like.... C o Mmu nIcaTE with him so I was trying but this isn't normal, and my gut knows he isn't really trying. It's just crazy to me how all the people in my life keep being like 'oh he's trying!! That's love!! It's so rare to find a man who trie…

Thank you so much everyone!! Honestly some of your comments hit really hard, but I needed that and I love this group for how none of y'all take any man's BS. It's hard to absorb tho, because my head is quite done in with how much I luuuurrrrv him.... Or whatever lol So thank you all for the tough love, and helping call me out too / helping me realize I'm an idiot for letting him tromp around my house (and my life) like this.

Um? How is wanting stability and commitment from your 5 year relationship the wrong reason? What is wrong with that? What do they think 'the right reason' is?

Such a good insight, and YES that's a totally normal phenomenon for long term / dead end / playing house 'situationships'. Its very normal for one partner to get sick of the other 'playing house'. Its disrespectful. Yes, I'm sure year 3 felt loving... But was it really? Or was it just convenient for him? Its easy to sit there and let someone fall in love, even if you 'aren't sure' if you actually want them. Was it just fun to play house with you; even though he had no intentions of taking it fur…

I'm sorry. So many girls 'try to be the perfect wife/daughter in law' before marriage to show they are marriage material, and it doesn't usually end well. He used you to build himself up during grad school, aaaaand now.... Where is he? Wait if you want to. Or start dating again. Marriage is what locks in long term exclusivity. You're giving the best years of your life to someone ; marriage and financial security is what they give in exchange for you giving your life to them. Be frank with him. '…

I totally understand ❤️ I know it's much easier said than done. What about him is such a 'great catch'?

Please go back and read what you wrote. If you can't see how he's clearly stringing you along and using circular logic to avoid commitment, then I can't help you. Its been almost 5 years. People can, and do, say anything to keep things from changing before they're ready. He is stringing you along. Honestly, what are you getting from the relationship at this point besides being blamed and gaslit for your wants and needs? You do deserve a relationship with someone who won't just move and expect yo…

I'm sorry. :( The hard truth, is that people know within 3 - 6 months if they really want to be with someone for the rest of their lives. 6 - 12 months is ensuring that there aren't any hidden aspects to the person. 12-24 months may just be additional vetting... He doesn't want to marry you. You are a placeholder. He probably cares about you as a person, but if he saw you as the one - he would be investing in you. This is the kind of relationship where the person breaks up with you, and then mar…

LOL right?? I /sincerely wish/ I was exaggerating any part of this clown show. I literally sat there and stared at her social media page for a solid minute this morning trying to decide if I should reach out to her and ask if she was okay or not. But decided it's not my monkeys not my circus she is old enough to pull on her big girl clown shoes and dig her own grave

Thank you, this exactly sums up how my subconscious keeps processing every post she makes about her clown engagement
