I think I’m missing something....what’s keeping the ex from just saying no this time? Was there a change in the custody agreement?

I completely agree with you, but I would add that I think we, at this point in history, tend to overstate our ability to rehabilitate sexual offenders. At this point in time, we don't really have a way to cure someone of those urges. Until we have some way of stopping those urges, we need to make it our priority to keep children safe.

If you want to really understand what happened in Mikes case, read the Statement of Fact by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. WARNING => The Statement of Fact is VERY sexually graphic. You can also read the indictment via the link at the bottom of that same page. Not only did he get an 18 year sentence in a federal prison (we all know how prisoners feel about pedos), he lost his computer, his car, and his house because they were used in the commission of the crime. He was close to re…

I was not making that case at all. By Mike’s own admission, which you can read yourself in the related court papers, he stated that he was unable to resist her flirtations because he was such a desperate loser. If he is unable to control his impulses, then he would surely commit the same crime in the future. So it follows that the only way to prevent him from harming future victims would be to keep him locked up for as long as possible. I considered Mike a quasi-friend, at least someone I had a …

He was the boyfriend of the underage girl. He would pick her up at her house late at night, bring her back to his place, give her gifts like lingerie, and take pictures/videos of her wearing the lingerie and doing sexual things. That last part is the “producing child pornography”. Not sure what you are envisioning by the phrase “producing CHILD PORNOGRAPHY”, but he wasn’t making videos to sell to a pedo audience. The pictures and videos were for himself. I would hazard the guess that this lady l…

I have the same suspicion (as I stated previously) but have not seen any actual proof. Do you have a link to some proof? Best I've seen was someone spouting similar suspicions without proof.

It's you really care about her then you need to look at this from her perspective....is it a good idea for her to marry someone who is not in love with her and spends the rest of his life wishing he was with someone else? If you truly care about her then you have to let her go. I think you are worried too much about hurting her feelings in the short term but not really thinking about how much you will hurt her in the long term by marrying her.

I assume you mean mod messages related to bans, right? I am not sure you always get a message. I seem to be banned from TwoX since I can’t post on that sub but I never received a ban message. I double-checked just now and I have never received a ban message from any sub, let alone TwoX.

Auto-banning based on participation in a particular sub is lazy moderation. I lurk in many subs where I don’t really share the same philosophy as most folks in the sub. I’ll sometimes post dissenting comments in those subs, an act which would get me banned from other subs by lazy moderators. Is there a way to tell which subs you have been banned from?

What scares me is the people who have the mindset that the person with $1,350 should give some of that money to the person with $350 because that guy with $1,350 must have acquired that money through some unproven privilege.

By definition, a diet is a way of eating. I know that most people use the word incorrectly, but the word diet does not suggest anything about a temporary way of eating. Also, if you start to follow a way of eating and you experience health benefits such as weight loss, then you’ve demonstrated that your old way of eating was the cause of your health issues. If you subsequently return to your old way of eating, you should expect those health issues to return.

You are eating less than what you normally eat, but are you eating at a caloric deficit? You need to track your calories to be sure. And add at least 10% to your count of calories consumed as we tend to underestimate our calorie consumption.

Wow. I’m happy for you that you have not been excluded from you kids lives, but it’s sad that you have to carry the burden of raising the kids on your own and even sadder that she wants no connection to her own kids. That must make your kids sad. Doesn’t she love her kids? I live for my daughters...I would be broken if I wasn’t able to spend the fullest amount of time with them. I can’t imagine walking away from them.

You sound like a good father. And kudos to both you and your ex-wife for sucking it up to try to keep things as civil as possible. The kids are the most important. What happened between their parents isn’t there fault even though the get the worst of it.

I find it disturbing how dramatically different she looks in some of the pics. I assume the picture of her in the black dress with the red shirt tied around her waist is just an older picture, but I've seen amazing transformations by strategic use of makeup so I can never be sure.

I was going to say this exact thing. That phrase indirectly says that she will never see you in a sexual way. That is the saddest thing to hear from a girl. But it's probably better that she says that than leave you guessing her intentions. That statement might not be direct but the implications are pretty clear. You should know to let that relationship go once she has said that to you.

I am genuinely confused by the definition of the word "mansplaining". I've seen the word tossed out flippantly to end a debate but is defined in at the the following ways: As the senator defined it, "it's the slightly patronizing and condescending way you're responding to my question." Explaining something that had just been explained by a woman. Explaining a woman's concerns but from a man's perspective. Can anyone clarify their understanding of the true meaning of that word? I would typically …

It's insecurity when you experience typical behavior but fear something is wrong even when there have been no red flags. But that's not the case here. You checked her location because her behavior suggested she was possibly cheating. You're suspicion is mostly based on a change in behavior that is obvious to you but I'd bet there were other subtle changes that you've picked up subconsciously that you are not aware of. It's a combination of the conscious and subconscious clues that led to that gu…

I don’t see the point of banning anybody, even her. I’d rather her tweets be out there for everyone to see so it’s harder to deny that people like her exist. I also don’t get this idea that people in preferred groups need to be protected from people who make obnoxious comments online...if you are really bothered by what someone has to say, then don’t subscribe to their twitter feed.

The red pill truths in this book really have me wondering if this was possibly written by a guy trying to expose how easy it is to unfairly destroy a man. Here is an example of what I mean...some of the lines sound like they were copied from this sub: “It's patriarchal society that defines violence as physical, in terms of beatings and broken bones, but never in terms of allegations and broken lives. Even when studies show that women are just as violent as men when "violence" includes things su…

That was my original assumption, too. Then I downloaded and read a bit of the PDF and now I’m not so sure. The author lays out a framework for ruining a mans career and reputation but doesn’t seem concerned with whether the allegations are justified. However, the book does cite many examples of how the system currently abuses men. That’s really the foundation for the books strategy, that men face discrimination in many ways which can be exploited to ruin a man. For example: “Can you imagine what…

If a women followed the advice in this book and was taken to court by her victim, could the author be sued? I know that the author is anonymous and puts some text in the preface to absolve herself of responsibility, but I wonder if she would truly be free from culpability. If someone wrote a book detailing how to carry out a terrorist attack and then someone followed the books instructions and carried out such an attack, I would think the author would bear some of the responsibility. This is absolutely a fact. OPs success with American women is less about how open American women are and more about how much American women LOVE a guy with a British accent. I went to Dublin a coupe of times and found the reverse...super easy to meet women there. So it might just be a fascination with exotic people. I’ve often said that every British guy should come to the US for a few years after graduating college. They’d be shocked at the level of interest from American women. I’ve also wonde…

Yeah, of course. And such tactics could only work in the short term, at best. But these women seem to be in a delusional state of mind so they may be hoping that if they can just get the guy to show up then somehow they might be able to charm/seduce/guilt/pressure him to stick around, which of course won’t work. But that’s just a guess. I’m just as mystified as you by women who do this.

I’ve wondered the exact same thing for a long time. It’s so pointless and makes no sense. Could it just be shortsighted planning, like they are only focused on the goal of getting guys to ask them out with no plan of what to do once they are face to face? Or maybe the plan is to use psychological tactics to pressure the guy to stick around once they are face to face?

I don’t see where he blamed her or suggested that she deserved it. Could you clarify how you got that from what he said? Nor does he suggest he is even happy that she’s gone. He’s just expressing his sadness that this girl chose someone who ended up killing her over him, a supposed “nice guy”. I kind of agree that when you give something to someone you should do so expecting nothing in return. You’d be happier if you adopted that mindset. But that’s truer for small things. Because he has a beta mindset. He believes that if he is a really good guy who “saves” the girl then in the end he will get the girl. He doesn’t realize that she only has interest in him because of his help, that there is nothing deeper between them. As soon as his help is no longer needed, the primary basis for their relationship is gone and it’s just a matter of time until she finds a better guy.

He got a job and put HIS money toward paying for HER degree. School is expensive....sounds like he gave up a lot to me. He believed he would gain a commitment from her in return, that didn’t happen. Thank you for trying to appreciate all perspectives. I think we men often just focus on a subgroup of women when we think about our interactions with the opposite sex and how those in that subgroup are so dismissive of the concerns men have. But I keep seeing women pop up with comments who are clearly trying to be fair and listen to what the men are saying. I'm not sure we give those women enough credit.

You say you want one last conversation so that you can have closure. Maybe I’m wrong, but I suspect that you really just want a chance to reconcile. Even if that’s not your intent, that’s likely what he is trying to avoid....that reconciliation conversation usually just breaks down into a rehash if the same old arguments. Separately, I get the impression that you have different expectations from the relationship. He seems to want something casual with no commitments while you are clearly in love…

If her logic is that she just wants the best life for her kids, then she should also use an egg donor given her realization that she is also not that attractive. Why should he be the only one to sacrifice a genetic connection to his kids?

Thank you (sincerely) for that clarification. I also interpret that word in the way that /u/whatyoucallaflip interprets the word (I think most guys define the word that way). I think a lot of the division between men and women comes down to the unknowingly different ways we use words. Shedding light on those differing interpretations will help men and women better understand each other.

They see their co-workers as just that, co-workers—even friends, even people fun to be around. But they don’t spend their workdays thinking about them as sex objects, or about their bodies. Someone needs to break the news to this lady that men actually do spend most of their time thinking about sex. Men are shamed for it but it's really not a shameful thing, just biological programming. Physical violence on women by men is a bigger problem than the reverse, but women are far more likely to inflict emotional harm to men. This is very common but no one talks about it. Many folks, especially women, argue that emotional harm is more impactful in the long run than physical violence and I would agree with that. Both types of harm matter, but we mainly ignore emotional harm, especially when the victim is male. Why is that?

Her reporting a false rape is a significant action and she should be punished to discourage false rape allegations by others in the future, no doubt. But the actions of the Army are an even bigger problem, in my opinion. They chose to ruin a man’s career because of false allegations. They should have done a more thorough investigation and only taken action if the rape accusation was provable beyond a reasonable doubt. The Army has just as much blame as the accuser.
