Nah, the joke they are making is the vapid idiots who keep saying All Lives Matter.

Lol, I did no such thing. But nice logical fallacy of a strawman there. His claim about the enshrining language is a bald faced slippery slope. The entire bill was about protected classes and there is nothing about fining him if he uses the wrong pronoun, much less jail, or any of his hunger strike fantasies. As before, would it be okay to deny a mortgage or perhaps custody rights to a person based on their race, sexuality, or religion? I bet we both think that denying bigotry is a great thing.

Refusing to call people by their proper names or using the right pronoun for someone. You think it's okay to call all black people the N word or call any minority a bigoted nickname? Same thing. He also supposedly knows philosophy yet he employs tons of fallacies whenever he soaks like the gish gallop, slippery slope, and begging the question. In philosophy he's branded a sophist, basically a con man. Hell, even his book used a common con tactic which is he underpins all his bullshit with some b…

He used a lost of some basic rules that drew already common knowledge to promote his crazy fringe ideas on race and sexuality. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. He's the conservative version of David Avocado Wolfe.

Your analogy is terrible. Only if you got this things, claimed to be a Roman, followed Roman laws, customs, ideals, and actively advocated for the actual re-establishment of the Roman Empire would we call you neo Romans. Funny thing though, you should look into the etymology of Reich and Kaiser.

You mean the white nationalists like Richard Spencer and the like who demand a white homeland and the deportation and ethnic cleansing of minorities? Because as a person of Jewish descent I'd say they're on step 2 of Nazi ideology and therefore worthy of the moniker. Fuck white nationalists.

You any the other fellow both have good answers for humans, but altruism exists in animals as well, and in particular, non pack animals, and especially when it is just two animals alone, one is trapped, and the other has food. It could eat all the food and leave the other alone, or it could share the food and release the other animal. It's common for animals to do both. Even across species lines as long as one isn't the obvious food of the other (so no mice or cats, but mice and rats, or cats an…

Not true about the PTSD. I woke up during spinal surgery. It was bad. Surgery went fine though. I blew it off and didn't worry about it. Ten years later I had a full blown panic attack flashback while driving my car. I was enroute to the doctor's office for a sinus infection. Yeah. Just because you don't treat it like trauma doesn't mean your brain will ignore it. I went into therapy (CBT and EMDR) and that has helped me a ton. So yeah.

You realize that there are conservative groups that hunt down and kill people right? The Minutemen here in Arizona patrol the border and shoot to kill anyone trying to cross the border. So you may want to check your assumptions, because you know what happens when you assume things.

Funny how you call them Israeli Arabs when I and everyone else is talking about Israel's treatment of Palestinians. I'm Jewish, I've been to Israel and Palestine, you're blowing smoke about the humanitarian crisis that the illegal settlements, the wall, and all of the insane controls Israel has placed on the Palestinians: like turning off the electricity to entire cities randomly, or the water, or just denying anyone access so they lose their jobs.

Nice cherry pick, but Hafrada is in all intents and purposes apartheid. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_and_the_apartheid_analogy?wprov=sfla1 "Regarding international law, the team (Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa) reported that Israel's practices in the OPT correlate almost entirely with the definition of apartheid as established in Article 2 of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid."

I didn't say it was okay for a teen to exploit another ten. They're not exploiting each other when they're teens because they don't know better. The adult does, therefore they can and should refrain from having sex with a teenager.
/r/MensRights06/09/15 08:04 AM
2

Not appealing to the legality. The point is that teenagers at that age start experimenting with sex. However, their brains haven't fully developed to the point where they understand all the consequences of having sex or long term decision making. Two kids messing around, but being safe about isn't so horrible. The problem arises when an adult, who knows better, and understands that teenagers are curious about sex, but don't understand all the long term ramifications, uses this to seduce a teenag…
/r/MensRights06/09/15 07:35 AM

I'm not appealing to authority, see my other comment about how while the aggregate shows brain development is at the stage ready for such decisions at eighteen, some people develop faster and therefore to minimize such cases, especially with younger people experimenting with each other, there have been laws developed so that they are now penalized legally.
/r/MensRights05/09/15 08:34 PM
1

Because they're nearing the cusp when they can and while collectively 18 is the average age that scientists agree is the age when the brain is developed enough, some people develop faster and instead of penalizing them because they're both underage or having two kids who are only a few months apart but one get in trouble for statutory rape because they're eighteen and their boyfriend is seventeen the laws try to reflect the reality of the situation and minimize edge cases.
/r/MensRights05/09/15 08:31 PM
1

Nope, many states have underage sex laws where if two minors have sex then it's not a crime, some wiser states even have laws where if one minor has sex with someone who's eighteen it's not statutory rape as long as they're within 24 months of age of the 18 year old. Not all states have these laws, but many do, and there are movements to create these laws in states that do not.

He can't legally and reasonably consent as he's not an adult and his brain has not matured enough physically for him to understand everything and the long term ramifications of what happened. Statutory rape exists as a crime for good reason.

If you're in contact with him get him to go to a court appointed arbitrator with evidence of her abuse of the children and the state of the house. Get depositions from other family about everything and drop it on the court. Don't focus on her, focus on the well being of the children. If he has to, move in with his parents so he can provide them with a safe space. There's a good chance with what she's done, that he'll get custody. Source: father with full custody.

Yeah, I quit being a high school teacher because the pay was terrible and after I had one 18 year old senior hit on me and show cleavage to get a better grade I was afraid something worse would happen. The levels of development are different at those ages and you should read deeper than one article about what specifically is developed at what ages. Most states have common sense laws regarding two close aged people having sex across the age of consent line. Most have a grey area of twelve months where people can not be charged at that range. However, at 14 and her at 20 it's clearly statutory rape and while her brain hasn't completed all cognitive development the areas regarding right from wron…

When an adult has sex with a minor (and they're more than a year apart in she) it is abuse. The adult should know better and the minor mentally is incapable of being completely rational as their brain has not finished developing in those areas.

No one said anything about betraying her SO. Other posters are saying you're actively catalyzing emotional harm on her SO. And not just emotional hurt where you convince her to break up with her SO before you sleep together, but the feelings of betrayal and the destruction of trust within another person. YOU, not her, are the catalyst for that. She's going through with it, and is definitely a shitty/crazy person, and the general rule of, "Don't stick your dick in crazy," applies here.
/r/seduction13/04/14 04:33 PM

Extrapolate that to the extreme case - The boyfriend is going to die some day, the question is whether it'll be you or the next guy who happens along who kills him. You're trying to justify actively harming another person who you have no morally justifiable reason to harm. :)

I've met a ton. Most of them are normal women who think SJWs take things too far, but are concerned about common problems women face and just want a fair shot at things. They're usually not active in the feminist movement since the SJW/Gender Feminists have taken over.

You probably hate gender feminists, you likely agree with equity feminists. Gender feminists want the promotion of women, they're the SJW's, believe in the Patriarchy, etc.. Equity feminists just want equal opportunities. They're much rarer these days and deftly not as vocal.

Sure, Social Democratic is the style of the Nordic Economies and is a Socialist variant of the popular Western government type known as a welfare state (the US, Canada, etc. are all welfare states) aka a Mixed Economy. Some are more Capitalistic and some are more Socialistic, but the the modern Socialist states would include most of Western Europe in most definitions. They have major Socialist functions (usually citizen welfare, education, utilities, etc.), but with regulated "free" markets.
/r/MensRights27/03/14 01:51 PM

A mix between collective and capitalist economics IS Socialist. That's what it is by definition. Socialized healthcare, utilities, etc., and private for profit businesses is the classic make up of Socialist countries.

Because they're lying about the nature of the gap and acting like it's discrimination on men's part when it's really choices women are making themselves that are causing the gap. They are not victims in this scenario and men are not the victimizers, yet that is how it is treated at all levels. So again great job moving the goalposts odd your original argument, and go read the sidebar if you want to actually be educated, instead of spouting off and sounding ignorant.
/r/MensRights04/02/14 07:32 PM

I was referencing your name. And it's false not because there is a pay gap, but because there is a choice gap. Women are paid the same for doing the same work as men. That is true, but feminists try to claim that is false with the bullshit 76 cents on the dollar. But you're just a troll trying to ignore the actual issue and dealing only in red herrings.
/r/MensRights04/02/14 06:28 PM

Any limiting factors you want or do you really want the total world wide wage gape? Because that's not what we're talking about and your goal posts are shifting, bub, if you want that. Care to be more precise in your language or are you more troll than brainless field hand?
/r/MensRights04/02/14 05:56 PM

No, it's called statutory rape for a reason. I see your other point you might be making, but no, as an adult you would still be coercing them into sex because they can't understand the implications of what they are doing. Sort of like how you can rape someone who is a physical adult but has brain damage and thus mentally a five year old even if they consent, but are considered a legal ward of their parents because of their brain damage.

/r/MensRights16/01/14 05:34 PM

I disagree. Minors are not mentally capable of understanding the implications of consenting to sex with an adult. That's why it is called statutory rape. It implies that the minor might have agreed to have sex, but as a minor they don't understand consent enough to give it. In your mediocre examples it's more akin to a person signing up for a credit card that secretly says the person will become a literal slave to the CC company if they miss a payment.

There was a political bruhaha lady election because an idiot politician used that term to differentiate from something like, "rape, but the kind where the victim enjoyed it," or done such insanity.

You have a romanticized view of Montessori. A lot of private school teachers do that when they realize their student(s) have mastered the required material, but it's on a case by case basis as it should be. My counselor was a woman and she was excellent and took my side after all was said and done in her report to the judge despite remaining very neutral during sessions. Gah! Of course you're correct - my bad for replying when I was still just waking up this morning. N turns diamonds yellow. Silicon is part of the structural lattice work of a Moissanite and is what makes the difference. Well, if you compare a synthetic diamond say 1 carat Flawless Cut and Clarity that is a Fancy yellow with a natural diamond 1 carat Flawless Cut and Clarity that is also fancy yellow the synthetic will be cheaper. You have to compare apples to apples with diamonds. The reason syn…

Moissanite is okay, and probably better for a night out on the town, but if you can afford Moissanite you might as well buy a lab-grown diamond. Moissanite is losing because lab-diamonds are real diamonds (and while Moissanite is close in quality it's not quite there - it has like an extra N atom I think in it's lattice...) they have no bad background and they cost about the same.

CZ is no where near as hard as diamonds and if you're wearing them everyday like an engagement/wedding band they will in very short order turn into what we in the industry like to call "frozen spit". The corners and edges will all crush and they will look like a clear plastic BIC pen that has been chewed on. The diamond coated CZ is no better. The underlying structure is still CZ and while from what I've heard it will look nicer for a little longer it still goes the same route. Now if you've got…

I don't, and most of my family's jewelry store income comes from color gemstone jewelry since our clients are almost all retired. CZ's also don't look as nice as diamonds, it's complicated, but has something to do with their surfaces having way more micro pits than a diamond would.

Nope. People really do want enduring symbols of their love and commitment for each other. They've been giving each other gifts in marriage since time immemorial. Literally, we have records that the Egyptians were giving each other rings and jewelry when they'd get married. As for something to spark memories, that's the whole point of the gift. To remind us of what we've committed to, and why we've committed to it. Finally, my wife totally did gasp at the ring in the pitch black room on PotC. I'd…

The three months thing is a misunderstanding of the original campaign, which is long, convoluted and lame. Buy whatever you want (rings, pictures, a cruise, etc.) that you can afford. The purpose of an engagement gift is for it to be an enduring symbol of your love for each other, something that sparks memories whenever you see it/think about it, not something that reminds you you're in debt.

Diamonds are not affected by wear and tear or mechanical >obsolescence - they are virtually indestructible in normal use as >jewellery... Sorry, that's wrong. Diamonds are hard, but they are not indestructible. If hit along a cleavage plain (how do you think diamonds are cut in the first place?) they can chip and even break. Actually only lab created CZs are flawless, and interestingly enough, people sometimes prefer flawed gems over flawless lab creations. Which I personally think, is a marketing issue, not an actual real issue. Also, CZs as Darth-Glory said, are 1/8th as hard which means that if they're worn like most engagement rings are, will look like crushed and frozen spit in a few months. The hard sharp edges of a diamond will stay despite their abuse, while a CZ will crush down and get this chewed on plasti…

It does matter, because we can then implement ways of curbing those actions. If 99% of women were raped by strangers in dark alleys after being given date rape drugs then we should have heightened vigilance and perhaps social rules were if a man buys a lady a drink he lets the bartender give it to her and not the man. But if 99% of all women raped were by their crazy uncles named Wayne we'd start wanting to stop naming guys Wayne and maybe not leave women alone with their Uncles that might be cr…

Do you have hard medical data on the high number of women actually drugged, or is it just the women stating they think they were drugged. I know I've gotten drunk before and had a hard time keeping things straight. I'm not slamming your claim that it happens or the seriousness of it, but unless we can get some serious hard numbers on it, it's hard to decide either way what the reality of the situation is regarding drug usage as a lower of inhibitions in cases of rape.

Yes, but you're missing the nuance that this falsehood is layered in with a true statement - That women (and men) are statistically at the most danger of physical harm (from accidents to murder) from their significant others. Something like 75%+ of all homicides are committed by immediate family or close relatives. Not only that, other accidents like car accidents where you're driving and your spouse is ridding with you also count for being endangered by our significant others. That's the point …

It is a simple document your lawyer draws up that you and your ex sign saying that either A.) We've decided on X amount being the appropriate amount to pay for child support for which ever party (or both depending on the child's schedule), or B.) We've decided that neither party will pay anything for child support. It's simple and straight forward.

Not so quick, I know in AZ that you can easily get a child support waiver, and my buddy in Vancouver has the same thing...Vancouver in Canada.

That's messed up, some states are different. In Arizona CPS is fucked up hardcore, but the courts and judges are a lot smarter, and I have my daughter full-time and her coke snorting mother is in another state and gets to only see my daughter at limited times and ways.

He could evict her for other reasons. In Arizona you don't need a reason to evict a person from a property you own that they're resident at (and are not on the lease, papers, etc.).

Agreed, and I know that the WNBA Phoenix team had a Men's Night back when they first started. Also women may talk about going clubbing more than guys, but seriously how many clubs have you been to? I've done advertising campaigns for clubs and unless you entice women to come a club quickly becomes a massive sausage fest. Even in the best clubs they strive to attain a 50/50 ratio of men women. WAY more men go to clubs than women do, at least in the US.

Right, so not very sexist is it, unless it's a female cut t-shirt. I've also seen a lot of sporting events where a bunch of guys get free t-shirts, and heard no outcry from teh feminists.

Maybe because Bars, clubs, sporting events and bowling alleys get a ton of guys just by opening their doors. Book Stores would probably do well if they promoted a Men's Book Club. I disagree, as an advertising and marketing manager for a multi-million dollar business we have both guy nights and ladies nights. Also, many of our competitors have one or the other or both. The events are designed to cater to one demographic and offer them services that they'd be interested in that the other demographic isn't interested in. Tell him to ask his lawyer and his soon to be ex for a child support waver. Figure out a reasonable amount for him to pay her and just decide on that amount. Once you're wavered the courts don't bother with the forms or consider them as strongly. That way he won't get screwed in the future if he gets a better paying job and she asks for an adjusted child support. ;)
/r/MensRights12/09/09 11:41 PM

Exactly. She should find a job, get her own place and get the kids during the weekends.
/r/MensRights29/08/09 06:49 PM

You're nuts. 1st - Don't MOVE OUT. 2nd - if she wants child support she can go through the channels, but you're screwed that she hasn't found a job yet. WAIT, if you can until she finds a job, that will help a lot. Also, if you're not going to get Sole Custody of the kids ask that child support be waved (you can do this), and thus you can both support the kids in a reasonable manner.
/r/MensRights28/08/09 10:09 PM

As someone who went through a nasty long divorce and came out smelling like roses, this is pretty good advice, although I'd ask the court to wave the alimony. Also, 50/50 split of bills and assets, and if your state allows it - don't count things you owned before the marriage in that 50/50. If you have some expensive stuff that you previously owned - like a motercycle it doesn't count towards her getting something that is expensive like your new tv.

Depends on the circumstances, if he has multiple assault charges against the woman he supposedly raped, then yes, this evidence should be allowed and thus cast aspersion on his testimony. By "once" you mean "at best a few years ago". >And probably not even. DeBeers most likely >still kills innocents, they just publish >documents that claim otherwise. And you >expect us to believe these lies. Why? Because >you profit from these lies. You profit from >murder. You are a war profiteer and you have >not the smallest bit of shame or conscience. If DeBeers was still murdering then the countries and families that these people are a part of and where DeBeers does their mining would be rai…

Seriously? Do you just come up with more overly dramatic statement after another? Do you ignore the fact that DeBeers is just one of many other companies part of the Kimberly Process!? Sure they're the big kid, but they're not the only game in town, and a lot of the other games don't particularly like them - like the Australians and the Russians. So even if these people are evil, murderous, and bloodthirsty (btw, do you have any fucking proof for this over the top rhetoric of DeBeer's current ge…

We need to do what we can. Agencies that can >prosecute or bring sanctions should work on >that. The rest of us should starve DeBeers of >cash inflow so they die the same painful >death that they brought upon countless others. These DeBeers you speak of, I do not think they are the same people that killed so many people so long ago. Just because an entity was once evil (look VOLKSSWAGON, MERCEDES, AND BMW ARE NAZI COMPANIES!) does not mean that the people who run it today are the same people or …

You don't? I and every jeweler who's signed on to the the process in Phoenix, which includes every AJA member, has a set of signed documents from their diamond suppliers showing the chain of custody regarding their diamonds. Is it a perfect system? No, can it get better, sure, but it'd probably require the active participation of say member countries and not just their passive acceptance. That's something only citizens in those countries can require of their governments and not something the ind…

You're right it is. No doubt about who those people are, and I'd like to point out that both Matt Runci and Cecilia Gardner, two of the loudest voices in the diamond industry for reform, change, and the rights of workers on all levels of the industry are members. Interestingly enough Cecilia is one of the main authors of a lot of the Kimberly Process.

Of course not, and how exactly do you have private business people who aren't involved with Government and Rebel forces in countries whose wars ended 10 years ago go about legally prosecuting these guys? We can't, that's the job of the UN, the Member Countries of Africa, and where ever else War Crimes and Atrocities have been committed. Despite what you may have thought was happening 99.9% of all diamond dealers would have nothing to do with the goings on of the wars in Rwanda and Sierra Leone. …

Wow, really? That's some pretty hardcore stuff you got going on there. Btw, my business is in a retirement community where diamonds aren't as popular. It is, in fact, the 4th most popular item we sell after ALL of our silver, gold, and color gemstone jewelry. It makes up about 8% of our total gross income, and about 3.5% of our profit (diamond profits suck). So, yeah, don't really need them to do well. Our Pandora Jewelry charm line makes us more money than the diamonds we sell. The reason I pos…

Interestingly enough DeBeers had to sell off a ton of assets, and divest itself of various sub-entities before the US would let it continue to do business in the US. It also paid large fines to the US for its former monopoly as it essentially coped a plea agreement with the Justice Department instead of getting convicted as a monopoly.

Do reporters have a circular file of old stories that they dredge up every five to ten years to re-use? First, as is my MO, here are my credentials: Where I work and the Board I sit on I like how her argument against diamonds consisted of: The UN webpage - possibly the most damming except for two facts: It was last updated in 2001 (8 years ago) and the wars are over, and more importantly: Less than 0.4% of diamonds in the US were possibly conflict diamonds before the implementation of the Kimber…
