you're right that men want sex, but wrong that women want a relationship merely for the sake of it. the woman typically wants protection and resource provision. a relationship simply defines the (proposed) exchange of sex for protection/provision taking place between typically a man and woman.

women do like powerful men, but there is good power such as being a successful entrepreneur (typically treats women well) and there's bad power such as stealing from a successful entrepreneur (typically doesn't treat women "well"). which one a woman wants depends on her upbringing, so she knows what to expect from men

I think polygyny is worth complaining about because it's probably not as promoting of a stable society as something closer to monogamy (there will likely always be a degree of polygyny, in theory). That said, I suspect users of the red pill forum may not be the most naturally skilled, and are just trying to figure out the rules of the game and how to win
