I forgot about this. For a time, I actually thought most people were crazy and thought the same. No, it's just that they used the internet and now we have hundreds of them banding up in an echo chamber. And fake internet points really makes them confident until they get off their phone

Had friends who would date until they're sick of you. For your food and money. Or for you to cater to them and be perfect in every way... or they'll ghost you. And they believe you deserve it too.

Had a coworker tell us (during "girl talk" I guess) her boyfriend preferred that she acted more toxic because he liked it. So she would act that way. Well, I guess it's technically a match made in heaven if it's consensual??

I don't make the connection with what you said before and what I said. You played the odds by losing out on a "great girl" who is actually a baby momma to a drug addict? (That's what I got from your story). Maybe define which is a lotto ticket and which is a stock. I'd definitely go for someone safe who doesn't have an abusive history or makes poor choices either. Doesn't matter how attractive they are or how nicely I think of them.

Well, plenty of people going to top schools can still be a piece of shit or have no morals. A job, their looks, and all that doesn't correlate to good thoughts or choices. I know girls who could be the perfect trifecta of looks and smarts and social personality. But they have terrible childhood experiences or they always choose the worst guys. Similarly, their friends might enable behaviors. Extraverted ones will actively choose the worst guys. Shy and insecure girls just let the shit guys choos…

I definitely think there's the thing you mentioned about seeing the situation at hand. If you look at someone's curated social media content and it is clearly "thirst trap" material. Which is easy to tell if you aren't insane. Then yes, it's troublesome. Seeking validation in a committed relationship is strange to most. And I'd think that most aren't okay with that or would at least take photos with their partner to "displace" that it's for attention. If it's an obvious vacation trip or friend b…

I also have issues with friends who post or portray themselves very sexually or too much for people to see. But they will inevitably complain that "guys only want them for their body" or that they're perverts. When clearly they're missing an important lesson on boundaries. There is a clear message in the way you portray yourself. A model for a big company was let go from an expensive deal when she was posting herself in a way the company deemed inappropriate. It's not just with a loved one. Bein…

Yep. The roundabout arguments. "The patriarchy is where men have the power" but also "we're not talking about ALL men, but since it's the patriarchy..." they want you to connect the dots without saying it directly.

Left leaning girl: Absolutely not. I was told I wasn't a feminist (thankfully, the feminist subreddit told me hating men is NOT a tenet of feminism) and I am a "pick me" for not believing that all men are bad. I have so many personal screenshots of messages and debates I've had with people I knew irl. Someone even told me that all women are born to want male validation because the patriarchy did it. And that my SO only wants to pump and dump me. I'd say you're lucky you don't hear all this BS bla…

Eh. When I worked retail for Starbucks I would always see couples come in (mid 20's to 30's). I would always see the girl try to pay and blocking his card. I'd say it depends on the person and the region. If it's a pretty nice city with bright minds, I'd say people are more open to pushing past those things. Even my SO gets unhappy when I try to pay him back for dinner. Not sure why. And as someone who took initiative towards guys a lot and got rejected often (whether genuine disinterest or they…

I've lost a few friends (girls) because I did not agree with them politically or, well, in most ways. I found it funny that they said the same phrase, "you talk like my ex boyfriend, why don't you understand even though you are a woman that all men are evil?". All sorts of platitudes about "it's how you make me feel, not whether I'm right or wrong" and all sorts of things I've grown sick of. I think it was the environment and role models I knew that I copied my way of thinking from. I've only me…

Not to generalize, but I find it true for some friends I've known. One told me that they would "hold and charge up a rose quartz crystal to guarantee love appears". As if it's destiny. Or some force. It just happens. Like you said, they believe horoscope and astrology "just makes a person act a certain way". A way of logic without personal responsibility.

Damn it. As a woman, I messed up because I gave up on one dude after the initial confusion. Which was interesting because the guy seemed to read a lot of stuff about the conflict of "being a guy in our current culture and society". He seemed more comfortable asking me out (well he did it in weird ways honestly), but would shut me down if I asked him. After I cut him loose, I noticed he seemed really down and disappointed. I felt bad but what could I do? Now I'm with someone who took it in stride…

True. But in my personal experience, I met some attractive to average but nasty ass dudes who are socially inept. They pick their nose, piss wherever, graffiti, do drugs, can't even finish their high-school degree or barely passed, college dropouts, dyslexic ADHD and everything mentally ill. But I notice that the attractive weirdos still get dates. I knew a weird fiend who was ugly before puberty and everyone avoided him. He hit puberty and grew tall and boom he's getting hook ups. I feel like m…
