I don't really see how this is a Mens' Rights issue. From the article itself, it seems as though most governmental departments were more than helpful with his case. There is no reason to believe that he was impeded in his search because he is a man.

I agree with your point up to a certain extent. Your situation implies a certain level of trust on the opinions of individuals that you may know well.
