"It's fine" - way to tell on yourself. That attitude goes to show men are utterly clueless as to how life-altering having children is. They don't see, or comprehend, themselves making any sacrifices. My father apparently wanted a pile if kids because he enjoyed having six siblings growing up. He had one, and as it turned out, absolutely hated being a parent.

Oof, this whole post has been very enlightening...I thought people just enjoyed playing matchmaker. Now I'm rethinking every well-meaning match attempt. The woman is always a Band-Aid! Whether he's just the boring, clingy friend in a friend group or it's a full-on failure-to-launch scenario. So many people are trying to foist weird dudes onto hapless women...

Haha, I noticed that too, that could be the Psycho font. But much more importantly, thanks for sharing OP. Glad you got away from him. What are people's thoughts on hitting a narc with a restraining order? It's such a tarnish on their image that I worry they'd go nuclear.

Jesus. When I was getting more frequent UTIs, I remember asking a couple different doctors 'how is this happening??' They'd always be like, 'remember to wipe front to back 🤡🤡' when they should have been saying 'perhaps your partner has a dirty dick.'

Leave A Cheater, Gain A Life by Tracey Schorn. Not to presume your mom was cheated on, but the book focuses on leaving a narcissistic partner and how to protect yourself on the way out. Her blog Chump Lady is also incredibly helpful.

Extremely suspect that he was so pissy about spending Valentine's Day together...such a standard relationship thing. Makes me wonder if he was actually trying to hook up with his ex!

Hell yeah! Even better if he sees you laughing together. Another fun thing I've done -- when he brags about a woman, I jump on the compliment train with him. "Wow, good for her! She sounds cool / accomplished / amazing!" Such confusion, followed by total deflation.

UGH there's an elderly pickme matriarch-type in my family who would have me destroy myself with bad choices simply because she can't fathom me not wanting her life - ie, lots of babies, endless domestic labour (coupled with zero support or reciprocation) no career or personal endeavours, simultaneously worship and manage the husband but also bitch about him to the gals. Her entire life has been devoted to serving her husband and sons. She hates that I've lived for myself and she cannot spare a s…

No kidding! That sentiment never made sense to me! My 'kink' is being cherished and adored. If a guy seems uninterested, then my own interest evaporates.

Holy shit this explains a lot. I have an abusive relative that I don't have to see very often, and don't have any respect for. I'd get so frustrated with myself, because despite not having to interact much irl, I keep 'running simulations' of hypothetical confrontations with them in my head. I'd wonder 'what's wrong with me,' why do they get so much headspace...now I know.

I'm curious about the spiritual angle, what did you discover?

Lol, really? Becuase that makes a lot of sense... Women are just such baffling creatures, the guy needed a way to dumb down the lot of us. The love languages idea kind of makes my blood boil. It never resonated but was shoved down my throat as a church goer many years ago. I realize it's a helpful tool for some; I'm salty becuase it felt like men got an excuse to not see me as a complex being, as well as manipulate me into providing 'physical touch' and 'acts of service'.

Exactly this, OP! I bet OLD and his new found "freedom" is not working out for him at all 😂 He would definitely try to suck you back in. A man at peace is not curious about his ex's apartment.

While it's best the guy has been vetted and you already know he'd react positively to this.... I would loooooove to spring this on a fuckboy just to watch him squirm and sweat and for once think about the consequences that I have to worry about all the time.

I have to agree. There's pros and cons to waiting, but I lean toward getting utter and total commitment before risking the vulnerable position that is pregnancy/motherhood.

Oh my gosh, yes, that episode was hysterical. Best commentary I've seen in a long time. Young men are pouting about the #metoo movement so they go after older women... who, as you say, are ultimately disgusted by the age gap. Absolutely scathing. Could not find a clip, but it's s4 ep7.

One of the most shocking things that clicked for me at FDS: men are happy to date someone they don't even like. Just to have a woman around, just becuase she's convenient. Chasing a man is a surefire way to become his 'good enough for now' girl.

Omg, I did this in college. Asked a guy out, and he said he just wanted to be friends. I cried, time went by, and I moved on. Then he changed his mind and wanted to date! But I had lost interest by then. It made things so shitty and awkward in our friend group -- he made a big stink about it to the women in our group, who scolded me for breaking his heart. And then a short time later, when my best friend was visiting from out of town, he tried to seduce her. Guy was just all over the place. Anyw…

Bush Pilots!! LOL. I have never heard this one before, does it mean a guy trying to lock down a wife and have the obligatory 2.5 kids??
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/21 05:12 PM

You say narrow but this criteria seems super reasonable! I mean, I can see how no kids would reduce the number of 40+ men who fit the criteria. But otherwise you have described a well-rounded, functional, mature human.

Great post and lessons! On the note about your workplace, in general I'd love to hear more stories about women using FDS on the job, dealing with lazy, leeching, and arrogant male co-workers. I hate feeling so trapped with them, especially when I otherwise love my job.

So grateful for this community! I work in education, and FDS has greatly helped me deal with difficult male students who love to argue and suck up my time. I've developed an excellent radar for baiting remarks and attempts at sealioning. I've watched these young men consume countless hours from other staff, always women, by way of constantly challenging their expertise/experience/feedback. Bombarding them with emails at all hours too. In my experience they don't pull these stunts with the men on…
