This makes me so sad to hear. My boyfriend and I used to do a lot of work at a tutoring centre for low-income children, and we were extremely blessed with the trust placed equally on both of us. I know that in many situations, that isn't the case. I want to thank you for the work you do - it's very important and needed and I think men connecting with children, especially male children as a role model, is totally awesome. I think this is most definitely worth bringing up to the university. It's sexism, plain and simple. Why is it assumed that men do not desire privacy in the bathroom while women do? Look at a set of men/women's locker rooms at a high school. I remember us girls had 5 bathroom stalls and showers with curtains. The men's one had one stall and the showers were entirely open. I just think that situations like this add to the stereotyping that men don't care at all about privacy.
