The only guys who ever do this to me are my close friends. I either turn to them, brohug them and introduce them to the group or put my arm around them as well and introduce them. I'm not sure about strangers, but if it was an acquaintance I'd probably do the latter as well. To be honest, I never felt stuff like this threatening in any way whatsoever.

As someone who values giving respect, being authentic, taking care of my group and dropping that bullshit forced alpha attitude, I must say that I don't really like your way of thinking. Making up stuff for 'dumb chicks' or 'deciding who's comfortable' makes you look bad in my opinion. Congrats on not bailing out, though.
