I agree with you, but the way part of your comment read was that you were forceful, up front, and somewhat in the girl's face. You mentioned some of your old friends thought you were a perv, so I made the assumption. I definitely could've misinterpreted, though. You attract the energy you give off. "Women love it", but I imagine women in the mediterranean have different cultural views and general guidelines that differ from the U.S. I'm not saying one is better than another, but I've seen plenty of men cat call, be very direct (without class), and said women be completely creeped out by that approach.
