No, it doesn't kill attraction. Kissing a girl's ass kills attraction. Why do you think the direct approach works? If making a girl feel special kills attraction being direct wouldn't work and you wouldn't hear women say "That's very flattering." as they turn red. Abundance mentality? Women are emotional and if she thought you liked her, you just kick her in the gut. She probably see's you as a jerk now. Stop thinking so logical and tactical.

"... but if you're not comfortable, I can ask someone else to go with me. It's fine." - This is bad. I assume when you approached her you said something to make it seam like you noticed her or there was something about her that made you approached her. It's attractive to women when men make them feel special. With those words you killed attraction. If you ask for a "date" like you respond to those kind of texts, that could be your problem. Don't just move on. Improve your process.

Saying "I'm not boyfriend material." is too polarizing. Just like Mode One direct approach is too polarizing to be as successful as most men would like. I always say "I could go either way... I could just date different people or I can be in a relationship if I find a great girl. But I'm picky." I don't get blowback from this and it gets the girl in the mindset of proving herself to me vs. the other way around.

Push pull works in game and in conversations. If you feel compelled to answer say "Sometimes. But sometimes I just like connecting with one special girl. But I'm picky." You'll get more respect that way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
