1	White Privilege Conference 2014 Part 2 of 4: Rape Is Not Intrinsically Evil and capitalism upholds the patriarchy. They want to teach this crap to five and six year old's!?!? For the record, the sociologist isn't saying "rape isn't bad," what they're getting at is that nothing is "intrinsically" bad, the intrinsic being the key part. 13	My English teacher gave us this to analyse. Just waiting for everyone to finish reading, I have some thoughts to share with the class. Something where she's listing her credentials stuck out to me I cover such topics as the wage gap, the "second shift" (of housework and childcare) that heterosexual women often do in the home, the "third shift" (women's responsibility for intimate relationships with men) Seems like men just go around care free, earning tons more, never working low paid jobs, not helping at home and having zero responsibility in relationships. I'd never try to say that women should have to be attracted to shorter men, that's obviously ridiculous. Even so, we shouldn't have adverts where the butt of the joke is "Hah, she's fat so she's hideous and no guy would ever want to date her!" If I were a wounded party, I would much rather the injuring party did not wound others than just reimburse me and sweep me under the rug. It's economic because we give economic reimbursement, because economics are an easy way for us to "measure" how much someone should be compensated. The truth is that if someone was short and was insecure about it, watching this advert wouldn't cost them anything from a purely financial standpoint. Our system of dispute seeks to reimburse financially victims of all sorts of loss. While this may be financial loss, sometimes judgements include sums of money for "psychological" harm.
