Most people don't actually care about the causes/victims they claim to support, they care about the social status and validation they receive for professing to care about causes/victims. It becomes blindingly obvious this is occurring when you see the illogical gaps between their support for groups that are socially trendy to support and lack of support for groups that are not. For a lot of vocal "advocates" the advocacy was always a tertiary concern to the in-group signaling and clout.

Pseudo nothing. Modern feminism is overwhelmingly dominated by neoliberal feminism, which is a right wing supremacy movement full stop. I was puzzled in 2016 when the media dismissed guys like me as a "Bernie Bro." It's really not that complicated: left wing populism threatens (at least to some extent) the powerful people that own the media.
