Ugh. Yes. They have the worst, most toxic relationship. Beth never confronted her daddy issues or dealt with her narcissism and Jerry is a pathetic man-boy who, instead of taking control of his life, resolves to be miserable and point the finger at someone else. Totally agree. It seems like everyone is “one and done” these days. Idk if you watch Rick & Morty, but one of their more recent episodes had this “love finderz” app that supposedly finds your soulmate. Couldn’t agree more. It’s awful. The media and the internet have together skewed expectations for relationships and made finding a real love connection practically impossible. Everyone is always looking or swiping for the next best thing.

You should only feel guilty if you feel like you did something wrong. It’s really shitty when someone dumps all their problems on you. You’re not a therapist and I’m assuming you didn’t ask for this or consent to being an emotional punching bag. “Hurt people hurt people.” It’s no excuse, but when you are hurting or going through a difficult breakup/healing, the last thing you need to do is put that on someone else or try to start another relationship.
