Agreed, in 3.5 years you can do a lot to level up without trying to make a relationship work with a cheater. I hope now she wises up and doesn’t repeat the pattern. Now that she’s getting free, I hope she finds her true potential and best case, finds FDS to turn over a new chapter.

I get what you’re saying and FDS would definitely help this woman but man the trauma of discovery is rough. And men that we think are HVM gaslight and hide. I’m actually impressed she’s even leaving, because the percentages of women who stay after infidelity is way too high. I just think it’s off base to criticize her for not realizing sooner. Even with FDS when you’re in a relationship that long it seems easy from the outside but you’ve likely trauma bonded over 20 years, usually with kids and …

I had an open phone policy with my ex but I never snooped, confident in us as a couple and the fact that I COULD look. I regret that for years I never once snooped. He lied to me so I didn’t know he had a porn addiction, and eventually he put my health at risk my cheating on me. When I finally snooped, I found it all, but I wish I had snooped even when I thought things were fine and dandy.

Yep. It’s not just if something is off. It’s smart vetting. I agree, if it’s swapped? Fine, I have nothing to hide, and I’m going to look so he can have at it on my phone too. I don’t believe in “the right to privacy” with an intimate partner. Privacy about what? Intimacy means my mind body and soul are at risk.

I recently was listening to Ashnikko and absolutely loved her version: He was a boy, she was a girl Can I make it any more obvious? He was a punk, she did ballet What the fuck does it matter anyway? He didn't try to make her cum On top of all that, he was a little dumb Honestly, she was better off alone Now he's breathing down the phone He was a skater boy She said, "See you later, boy" He wasn't good enough for her She's not a therapist Don't wanna take care of him She's an independent girl I…

I just finished Get A Life, Chloe Brown and it was super spicy. She has chronic pain and finds a guy who actually attends to her. She’s a bad bitch and the sexual tension is off the charts

I was in a LDR for 7 years and felt smug that we made it work. It turns out he was flirting, had secret "friendships” with girls I found out because one posted a picture of her “best friend” on fb and I didn’t know of her. Add in a side of porn addiction I of course didn’t get the red flags about, what a waste of my college years.

Each state has a built-in prenup, so it’s worth looking up for your state what the rules are (for example, some have the same pre-marriage assets are separate and post-marriage are communal type thinking too, but I believe that’s if you divorce within a year) A pre-nup is essential in my opinion. People say it can be thrown out in court but the important thing is that it makes you really cover all your assets, possibilities, and talk about money and marriage in a way that isn’t generally covered…

Notice he says other people can't connect with him intimately instead of saying he's destroyed his own ability to be intimate.

Thanks so much for sharing. This is why everyone should be educated on how to spot porn sick people AND trusting their gut. Yet it also reinforces that it’s not the fault of the victim, when the abuser uses these tactics to protect their addiction.

There’s a good book about this called Invisible Women and how the world was designed with men in mind and how it affects us.

I feel you sis, I sent my ex the link to the ring I wanted 🤡. He proposed after a full day of cleaning because we were moving out.

She has a great book called Should I stay or should I go. It explains that there is no recovery. It’s a brain disorder. There can be improvements but no cure.

THANK YOU! It’s so nice to have this validated. I considered cutting doctors from my dating prospects— but I’ll add back in lady doctors :) everybody can make time for what is important. If he wanted to he would.

My ex is a doctor— 12 years of lying about porn addiction, he almost got caught watching at the night shift at work. I thought gaming was an ok pastime because He WoRkEd SOOo HarD but I didn’t know he cheated on me while interviewing for residency. This person does gynecological procedures on women. I will never have a male doctor.

What is an example of a fake scenario you might use while vetting to see their reaction

I had a similar experience in my first job. Nothing is worth the trauma that ends up following you around from shit men like this. There are other jobs with all those pros and more, I promise

I’m so glad my therapist is anti-codependency. When I first entered the world of being a partner of an addict I was willing to get whatever help I could. She got me out of those groups and into a group with actual trained therapists leading. Codependency is so victim-blamey. Many people weren’t codependent, they were lied to and gaslighted. Implementing boundaries is good but some of the codependency stuff is not where it’s at.

God, can't wait for your post. I was with a closet porn addict for 12 years without knowing. Red flags: not going to bed at same time, asking for specific stuff in bed (mine went the opposite route and NEVER asked for ANYTHING bc he didn't want me to suspect porn), incognito, protective of phone, taking way too long in the bathroom, narcissism

My now-ex is a doctor, he had a porn addiction and cheated on me when he did his residency interviews. Btw, please tell that woman he’s cheating on her, what I would give for someone to have warned me!
