7	This was posted to Facebok by a group called "Women's Rights News". Judging by the rest of their content, they have no idea of the most important meaning of the comic - that people are too quick to judge everything as so male-dominated, even for opposite reasons. It would be fine, if it were optional. The problem is, they aren't brought up with options. They are brought up with the possibility of being obedient or of being rebellious. Smart people who want to survive in a culture don't fight it, no matter how they feel. How can they express otherwise when it would lead to severe punishments?? I didn't read it as apologist, but that's because it seemed like the point of the article was to talk about how to keep people from doing it, not the horror of it. 6	So I did a little experiment in one of my psychology classes last week... I went with this. We don't know anything about the victim- they could have been attacking their father, their gay partner, their grandma, we have no idea. But the ones most likely to have access to and use guns, and get shot by police (with or without the perpetrator holding a gun) are male. So you have a situation where you KNOW most of the time police find men to be the batterer, and you know most of those shot by police are men. This confounds the original question. -1	Equal Occupational Fatality Day This seems odd to me. Not because it isn't true- It would also lower men's fatalities by allowing them to work in safer fields more readily. We need more male teachers and nurses. Women deserve access to better paying jobs, and men deserve access to safer jobs, too. But... 1	Why can't "nice" feminists admit that their movement has a dark side to it? I couldn't. I suppose someone could. But I'm a feminist in the sense that I am also a men's rights activist. I believe in equality- that compulsory maternal custody is degrading to both genders, that equal pay for equal work includes equal paternity leave... It's numbers. Someone who dates slow has fewer sexual encounters than someone who dates new people through the same time period and hops into bed with each of them. More partners still= more risk, given the same protections with each partner. I was taught that you could hurt them- I mean, hospital-hurt them- and possibly maim them for life, without ever meaning to. Nobody believes they can do ANYTHING right, including be evil. That's both a privilege and a handicap, and a role that's hard to break out of. But there are feminists who believe that women should get equal sentences.
