Check apartment therapy dot com and make yours look nice. Add colorful paintings, items to the walls. Get a bed set, sheets, comforter that coordinate with your planned theme(for the apartment). Make the inside so nice and comfortableshe forgets about the creepy look of the building. Sounds expensive but can be done on a budget. Live like a man who gets laid.

Also, if you take any nervous actions, ex. Look at your watch, check your phone for Facebook/instagram/email then make a promise that you will approach and talk to a live human being as penance for trying to escape the real world in front of you. And reward yourself whenever you make an approach until you get comfortable. Then the success will come from the approach itself.
