I will say, though, that you shouldn't give up on it entirely. There are women who are actually open to being approached and talking, and who you might have something in common with, but they are hard to find. It's true. But it is very rewarding when you do. And unfortunately, this does make it something of a numbers game, because the more women you talk to, the greater chance of finding those who are interesting. And the more you talk to strangers generally, in any context, the easier it gets o…

I'm sorry people in this thread are giving you such a hard time, but I can absolutely relate to your perspective. Ignore the people who make socializing (especially with women) sound easy: it's not. Maybe for them it is, but your experience is real, despite them telling you otherwise. I can't claim to have found an answer, I still struggle with it myself. But I get angry reading the comments of many people here saying things like "I'm absolutely no fun, how do I make female friends? lolol" and g…

I think the evolutionary biology people acting like we're just animals thoughtlessly running on instinct to perpetuate our genes are ridiculous and have lost the plot, but the Blue Pill/feminist types who act like we've just jumped the shark on millions of years of evolution, and just lost our sex drives overnight because "the world is modern now" are equally ridiculous.

I don't want those things from a man, I want them from a woman. I don't see what's wrong with that. This is a way in which men and women fundamentally differ. I think it boils down to the effect of different hormones on the brain.

And that's your prerogative, I just don't believe society needs to be set up to facilitate that lifestyle choice as a matter of human right.

I think 1) life does not begin at conception, but it does begin at some point before birth. I do think the pro-abortion ("pro-choice") crowd is too eager to gloss over or downplay the child's (fetus') personhood. I guess the reason is just that small thing of another life being created. 2) I do not think social policy should exist to facilitate sex for pleasure. Not that it should be illegal per se, but there isn't some fundamental right to an abortion because someone screwed around and got preg…

I think the idea that the father is a "third party" who "nutted inside her once or twice" is where the issue is. If that's all the guy is to the woman, I'd ask why she is sleeping with him. I'm envisioning a serious guy, ready to step up and be a father. If that's not who he is, the woman shouldn't be sleeping with him. The idea that the man is a "third party who nutted inside her" improperly devalues the man's role in reproduction. This is why I reject the feminist framing of this issue entirel…

For the record, I did not use the word "accountable" and think it's inappropriate in this context. All I am saying is that the "my body my choice" narrative is overly simplistic, and this isn't just about deadbeat dads and guys who make it all the woman's problem. I think a lot of the resentment comes from the fact that there are many, many guys with none of those issues, who don't and would never treat women poorly, yet they still sleep with the ones who do, and then complain about them or act …

I think this cuts to the heart of the question I was raising. Setting aside the deadbeat dad narrative, I'm envisioning a father who's actually a decent guy and willing to step up and be a father, care for the woman in his life and his children. Why is the woman sleeping with him if she would not be willing to have children with him?

Without taking anything away from your individual situation, which I am not party to and do not feel it's my place to comment on, why is the burden of abstinence always on the man? Envision a scenario in which the man would be willing to have a child with the woman, but the woman would not be willing to have a child with the man: why is the burden of abstinence on the man, in that case? Isn't that the basic point of the original post in this thread? If the woman wouldn't have a child with that m…

I reject the framing that this is solely an issue of bodily autonomy, or that the father or child do not also have legitimate interests. I know that's how pro-abortion activists frame it; I reject that framing of the question.

Am I the only one who thinks it's messed up that women are the only ones allowed to have emotions about their child being aborted?

The lack of self-awareness you display is staggering. Anyone who attempts to touch this topic in a way that doesn't fall in line with activists' preconceived narrative is immediately threatened and hounded out of their job and career. You have no idea what you are talking about. Trans activists are every bit as much a threat to democracy as the Jan 6ers. They threaten and harass anyone who dares step out of line, even other trans people. I've had people hound my employer on social media trying t…

That a significant proportion of males who identify as female (especially in the era of self-id, when medical diagnoses and formal psych evals are no longer required for legal recognition as a woman) are fetishists who get off on the idea that society is bending over backwards to accommodate their paraphilia, and that there has been a massive campaign within academia and political institutions to suppress research on this topic that doesn't fit the activists agenda, happening most recently here:…

You don't know me, or what I give a fuck about. I just don't want a world where my wife, daughter, mother, or sister have to share a locker room at the pool with any male, no matter what they identify as. I'll be sure to let them know u/Wattehfok on Reddit assures them AGP is barely a thing. No one said anything about camps for anyone. That's your imagination. Uh, I don't know what makes you think that's happening, but, no. I didn't even know this was an issue until the Wi Spa incident happened in Los Angeles, and after learning the full story, and who that sex offender was, and how the media went full-court press propaganda mode to bury that story, and smear anyone who steps out of line on gender identity, I'm more galvanized on this than I've ever been about any issue. All these bans the left complains about in the past year? They didn't come from n…

Libs of TikTok has called attention to a phenomenon the mainstream media refuses to cover, and has been branded an unhinged zealot for it. I first took note of this issue following the Wi Spa incident in Los Angeles. A woman complained to the staff at a sex-segregated nude spa that a male was in the women's section exposing himself in the presence of women and minor girls, that they felt highly uncomfortable and offended, and asked that he be removed. They were told in response that per the spa'…

Just don't wonder why this country votes hard right and feels joy at how angry and powerless it makes feminists. Honestly, dating culture and the whole attitude that it's fine to treat men like trash makes me want to vote farther right than I actually believe just to stick it to them. I don't even have a problem with abortion or birth control, but I'll ban them just to stick it to those sluts, and make a statement that there is real backlash to everything the sexual revolution represents. We're …

And in postmodern Western society, where the independent, liberated woman who doesn't need a man is celebrated, the most valuable man is a fuckboi simp who can be thrown out like trash after being used up.

I'm not a RPer myself, and I share many of your criticisms. But this is a real need. It's not some "girl cabal" but I do think women are generally far more attuned to social hierarchies than men, even from a young age, and many men have difficulty navigating that, which builds into resentment as they get older and listen to their male friends talk about getting laid in high school, while girls act like they don't even exist. These are the men who are drawn to RP. Those poor, struggling guys ofte…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 01:43 PM
6

I think most men who are drawn to the RP have few opportunities to meaningfully interact with women. Girls completely ignore guys like that from the time they're in elementary school, and then wonder as adults why they don't understand women. So this idea that they can just "touch grass" and have some enlightenment strikes me as unrealistic. RP might not be the answer, but their struggle is real. They often withdraw into online spaces in part because of social rejection by peers.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 01:27 PM
5

I don't think the last part is true. Women are the "selective sex". By the time the woman is on a date, the guy is usually interested. The man has a much higher burden to "sell" himself as a good partner to the woman. The RP strikes me as misguided in its approach, but that's the fundamental challenge for many men that it aims to provide strategy for.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 01:20 PM

There's no good way to meet people who want that consistently for people who aren't already in relationships. The default expectation in society is dick pics and casual hookups.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 01:09 PM
4

Yeah, you're right, but none of those relationships worked out anyway. I think part of it is that I don't like sex to be rough at all. I definitely prefer it to be gentle and loving.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/23 04:51 PM
10

I agree, but I'll say from my own experience, I've had multiple women tell me some version of "I like it a little rough" or "you can gently slap or choke me" or something similar, which I am 100% not into, and have refused every time. I really like sex that is gentle and loving, and anything that feels remotely rough/violent/kinky is an instant turnoff, but that's just me.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/23 02:59 PM

This assumes that's the life they want for themselves. Many (maybe even most) don't.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 11:06 PM

I fully expect to get downvoted into oblivion for this, but I think normalizing the two income household has massively backfired. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Two-Income_Trap Not that women can't or shouldn't work, but having two incomes as the norm has dramatically raised the cost of living overall. My personal view is that the man's primary responsibility should be as the breadwinner.

Nothing, it's just sad that this is what society has become. I personally agree.

I don't see OP saying there aren't reasons for this trend, only that it is sad. I tend to agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/23 03:20 PM

I don't think OP's argument directly contradicts this. Individual people can and should make life choices that make sense for them, but as a cultural shift, I agree with OP.

I don't think this is true. There are hot assholes and ugly assholes, and good-looking guys who are actually good guys, and ugly guys who are actually good guys. I am a guy and have known men who fit into all of the above categories.

No, dude. The reality of PUAs and Red Pillers like you taking "game" too far created an opening among women for simps. They're "reacting to the situation" just like you. Simp culture is a natural evolution from PUA/RP culture. I think you just don't like that they've managed to undercut your strategy.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/23 03:36 PM

No, they're playing a game just like you. I fault everyone who treats it as such. Simps are a logical reaction to people like you.

This mentality, at scale, is why dating is a mess. You should be ashamed of yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/23 03:16 PM

This is an accurate assessment. I think it just sucks that this is all a "game" and people can't just be earnest and straightforward, universally. I wish that was how it worked, and it makes me deeply misanthropic that it's a "game".

Mexico, Japan, Finland. I have no problem with gender equity. I just don't personally enjoy dating people who have a chip on their shoulder, even if somewhat justified. It's not fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/23 12:33 AM

Um, no actually it's not, and the whole (uniquely American) tendency to think of everything in such adversarial terms, either by people who actually do seek to oppress someone (the man who sees it as "in his interest" to oppress women) or the people like yourself who see oppression behind every corner, is why our culture is so toxic. When I first went overseas to countries that don't have this whole toxic discourse, it was a breath of fresh air. I'm not here to oppress anyone, and don't want to …

I'd argue that "classic masculinity" is a set of norms that evolved over centuries of natural selection for that precise reason, and only in the last few decades did we mess up the game.

most men have been conditioned to want marriage Hate to break it to you, but despite what post-modernists told you about how alternative lifestyles are just as good and all, people are wired to be monogamous.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/23 12:54 PM

Isn't that the RP argument though? That physically attractive women choose shitty men, and that because the dating game generally is stacked against men more so than women, the dynamic impacts men far more. I can see why, as a woman, it would be easier to say "I don't care what other women do", but I don't think guys have that luxury.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 07:44 PM
8

I just think you're framing it incorrectly. I know they're shitty, I don't want to date them as people. It just reinforces the RP perception that most physically attractive women are shitty.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 07:39 PM

Isn't that the point of this sub? I won't deny it: yes, the women are attractive. Yes, I would want to date them. And when guys like me see them dating the abusive men described above, it does prove the RP point.

You're the one being reductive here. I said friendship is messy and complicated, and you're trying to shoehorn it into your platonic concept where gender is totally irrelevant because that's what some gender theory professor said the future is. Also, I'm not in denial about the fact that male-female friendships that last typically have at least some element of sexual tension. You're the one crudely making it about wanting to "bone" people, as though sex is never more elevated than that. Gross. E…

I do want to take the point you're making, and go back to what I said before. I admit, I have male friends I wouldn't be friends with if they were female, and female friends I wouldn't be friends with if they were male. I admit I have different standards for male and female friends, and the friendships function differently and have different dynamics. They are still friendships. Male and female (same-sex) friendships function differently, in general. I think the modern desire to make everything …

My best friend and I met with a spark of attraction at a party, became friends despite her being 15 years older than me, flirted the whole time, had an affair, we ended things and I moved out of the city, we became distant, then she moved away and I moved back, and now there's a deeper friendship than we ever could have had if it were never sexual. The jealousy was of her husband at the beginning.

I think this perspective shows you don't understand anything about how male friendships work. I'm done here. I understand your perspective, however offensively you phrase it. Be well.

That's the thing. I don't "wish my bestie was pile driving me". It sounds nauseating when you put it in those terms. That's the part you don't get. It's more than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:27 AM

Yeah, I don't like the word "platonic", anywhere. It's an oversimplification. I have never explicitly called a friendship "platonic".

I have male friends who I wouldn't be friends with if they were female. I have female friends I wouldn't be friends with if they were male. I have friendships that started as friendships, became sexual, and became a friendship again. I have female friends who wish we had a sexual relationship, who I've rejected. I have gay male friends who have made advances towards me, who I've rejected. Real, adult life is messy, and complicated.

I understand why you would say that, but honestly, everything about your perspective just tells me you have never been a guy, and simply do not understand that experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 08:58 AM

And see, this take strikes me as disingenuous. Tell this to a guy who has a dozen female friends, who he genuinely likes, and feels jealous that he's stuck in the friend zone while watching them have sex with other men. Believe it or not, the fact that someone feels sexually worthless impacts their self-image, and their perception of women. Yes, friends may "like each other as people", but this take comes off as someone who's never had friends but been frozen out of sex entirely.
