By not taking it personal. Setting and timing play a huge role in potential relationships. It's rarely only about you, the person.

This is a flawed line of thinking. Work out sure, but with your health/appearance in mind for you. If you look better, your confidence might go up as well. Women tend to like confidence and personality. That will be your best option.

Try not to take it personally. I realize that's not easy to do, but don't internalize the interaction. Being rejected it part of the process. It doesn't always indicate that you did anything wrong or something's wrong with you. A lot of it is just bad timing.

If you're single, there's never a time when you can't do both. They are not mutually exclusive.

Yeah, confidence is a big part of it. Throw in bad communication, a bit of selfishness, and taking everything personal.

Normally, pretty and/or fine are what pops into head. Cute is for babies and puppies. I don't tend to it when talking about women. Hot doesn't really do it for me either.

I understand. maybe try framing it differently in your head. there's no real 'mess up'. he's likely going to enjoy whatever you do, especially if you're enthusiastic about it. Looking goofy is going to happen. embrace it. we all look weird in different positions or making faces when something feels really good. that's all part of the fun. exploring and getting the reactions.

like other things that can be scary, fight through the nerves. there's fun on the other side. ask him to be specific about what he likes. that'll give you a bit of a roadmap and may help quelle the jitters. also figure out what you're actually nervous about. worried about messing up? hurting him? looking goofy?

you won't get better at talking to women by not talking to women. do more of it, but without the pressure of 'scoring' with them. they're humans like you. it may be awkward in the beginning, but you'll eventually settle and be able to better read situations. doing so will go a long way in helping your confidence. as others have mentioned, you should still work on you while engaging with others. life is a continuum, so no need to wait for one thing vs the other. both can grow simultaneously.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
