Yeah. I think it takes true confidence and courage to rest in the not knowing (which I don't have yet)

"Catch" implies external validation...that you are valuable TO OTHERS. Letting that go and resting with just "I have intrinsic worth and value" period. The outcome of others' recognition of that will affect you (unlike your characterization of what I said) naturally, but knowing your basic human worth and equality is in tact allows you to know you will "be fine" in any case.

Gotcha. I think we are on the same page. In the moment, we all care to some degree, even if subtly, about being rejected by someone we seek companionship with, which is what we do when approaching a girl. It's only natural.

To me, that is disingenuous, which doesn't benefit us. We all care, to some degree, whether people like us. It's in our DNA.

You are in completely different life stages. And 20 male vs 25 female is a very big perceived age difference. I wouldn't trivialize it. My 25 year old female friends see 20 year old dudes as baby college bros.

I recently slept with a girl, after which she claimed she "didn't know sex could be like that." When I asked her what was different about me, she said, "you tell me what to do and don't give me a choice. It's like my body just does what you say." It's not like I choke her or anything. Just stuff like...if she tries to get on the bed with me I push her away and make her strip in front of me. Or if she said she's about to come, I'll literally pull out, and tell her to shut up when she whines, then…

I love the analysis, but it begs the question, in fact hinges on, what do you mean by masculine?

This is really uninformative, if only for the massive omission. In deconstructing the tail-slinging of Clooney, #1-100 has to be that he is a huge, famous, international, celebrity That is social value you can't manufacture, and none of these women would have ever heard of him if this were not the case.

Something feels really off about this blog post, but I can't pinpoint it.

You've mischaracterized a few things and seem to be getting pretty overtly angry and condescending, and seem to think I'm putting you down, which I never did, and certainly is not my intention. Nevertheless, I think it's best just to agree to disagree now and leave this back and forth. I'll just reiterate what I said above. I'm suggesting there is a higher and more sustainable road, in which you leave her out of it. You can reflect on your hurt feelings, recite your mantra, notice the impulse to…

There's really no need to get so angry. You and I are both advocating for personal strength and autonomy here, but seem to be suggesting different paths to realize it. I believe you can live it much more if you refrain from demeaning others. That gives them the very power you are trying to retain. If a random person came up to you on the street and yelled "get out of my way, asshole" then you could be confident they were a shitbox person. Well, first of all, that's nowhere close to your experien…

Struck the line about advances, but the point stays the same man. I can be confident in guessing that she did so because she's a shitty person. I obviously don't know the details of her life, but I can guess accurately that she sucks. Interesting. So, from a split-second "interaction," you know her core value: shitty. Must be some mind-blowing clairvoyance you have. What if you had seen her in a moment in which she was helping a kid cross the street? Volunteering? Crying? Would she then be a "gr…

Readers, please take HappyJerk's post with a grain of salt. Part of it encourages confidence, but part is very misguided and unevolved. For example. I tell myself that I am a well-educated, intelligent, funny, cool, laid-back guy with a good career that girls love, and this bitch who gave me a dirty look is probably a nobody, sorority-sister whore who has a bad attitude because every man in her life has treated her like shit and her only pleasure is shitting on strangers. The first half, the man…
