That's when they reply with the trusty old "patriarchy hurts men too" rhetoric. Oddly, it seems everything about this "patriarchy" hurts men in favor of women. Sounds a lot like victim blaming to me. That's their way of saying "your fault for being born male; not my problem."

If I ever have kids, that's how it'll be. You can find groups of like minded people too. Go on day trips together with other homeschool families, like 3 parents and 7 kids going on a nature hike while everyone else is sitting still and quiet at a desk or being pushed into a locker. Homeschooling gets flack for not having "socialization" but there is, and even better, it's consensual.

I think in the future women will become the sole parents. Only their name will be on the birth certificate. Government will replace fathers via taxation on everyone to the benefit of mothers. Even bio fathers will be treated like step-dads.

It's not always a choice. For example, I can't maintain eye contact with people no matter how hard I try and remind myself. I'll also never be six foot tall. Not even Walmart sells pants short enough for me.

Similar experience in grade school. There was one male teacher and the whole school feared him. I was so happy that he took a year off (his wife had a kid) when I was to enter his grade. But your comment made me wonder if he was really the asshole he was made out to be. Even boys are taught to fear men from an early age.

I've noticed that now people talk about the earnings gap (different earnings overall rather than for the same job/hours) but still call it the wage gap. This leads people to parrot that person and so on until the details are lost in the telephone game, ... until the person mentioning the wage gap honestly believes women are being paid differently for the same jobs and hours.

I was asking about men. But given your example, I don't have a chance in hell of dating a woman with a phd. I'll have an associates degree in a couple months, and I already know that's not good enough for the type of women I desire. So I look to the types of women I might have a chance with. Go to a temp agency looking for a job. If you're male, all they'll offer you is labor. If you're female, you get offered a nice job in an office with air conditioning. Happened to me multiple times. Every temp agency I've been to was run entirely by women.

Your comment reminded me of a Will Smith movie. Can't remember what it's called but I think he and his son were in and out of shelters while he tried hard to land a good job in the stock market or something. I wonder how realistic it was. Maybe shelters were different back then.

Both male and female victims under report. But I suspect that males are more under reported just because of the repercussions faced almost exclusive by males, which would dissuade them from doing so. When a male reports violence at the hands of a woman, he's first seen as the bad guy rather than the victim. Also, people think less of men who ask for help. Asking for help is risky for men, in more ways than one.

From what I gathered it's more that she was judging by their sex, not their gender, which is how these rooms are segregated in the first place. Aspiring Terrorist Pro-tip: If you're male, defect with a group of females. Upon your return, you'll face the same fate as them (no charges) because it would stand out that only the male is being charged for an equal alleged crime. Or something. In reality, he'd probably be charged, and also accused of recruiting and coercing them. So maybe don't defect with a group of females. For future reference, I recommend calling it the "earnings gap". That's actually real, for the reasons this article and you bring up (choices leading toward different jobs and hours, having a male partner be the breadwinner, etc). The "wage gap" implies being paid differently for the same position/hours, which is a lie and strictly illegal. So any differences in earnings is an "earnings gap" rather than a "wage gap". Yeah, one would think that a "patriarchy" would at least confer one benefit to being a male. All I ever see are disadvantages. From conscription for males only, to genital mutilation being legal for males while females are protected, to bias like this where it's only a problem that needs fixed if it happens to a woman. Maybe the simpler answer is that we're not in a patriarchy.

I think, even in an at-will state, he has a case, as he was discriminated against because he is male. At-will employment means you can fire for any reason that isn't discriminatory, like firing someone based on their race and sex. He was fired because of his sex.
