You have two gender brackets that include age 25 and two that include 34.

yeah, but I really am curious what your opinion on the issue is.

I feel like this comment is coming from a butthurt place and doesn't actually reflect your views so much as a set of (justifiably) jaded social expections. Is this how you actually feel?

The great irony I've observed is that though TRP touts the institution of SCIENCE, BITCHES like it's their flag, but when it comes to divorce statistics, men are far more likely to initiate divorce with a new partner already in place. Women, on the other hand, are more likely to be single after divorce (arguably a post-wall issue). But it's just silly--when you look at the numbers, men exhibit more hypergamous traits.

This really depends. Daniela Sea, known for her role on The L Word, spent time in India as a man (she's very androgynous) because it made things easier: “Pretty soon I realized that I could be a boy or girl—or I could seem to be a boy or a girl—depending on what I wore. And so it became...not really a game, but a way to operate—what would be best for the situation? It wasn’t without difficulties, to be so fluid. What I started to learn, I think pretty early on, was this intrinsic truth, which wa…

This study wasn't about speed dating. In fact, it basically controverted findings from speed dating because of what you just pointed out.

Being model-thin involves eating very little at all for most people, if you note my other comment here, I am not talking about overweight being normal. I'm just talking about average, healthy people being normal. In general, trying to look like models often results in eating disorders on the anorexia end of the spectrum. This does not mean all models have eating disorders, most are just built with thin frames and fast metabolisms, but that means a lot of people cannot attain their shape without …

I most certainly did read it. Did you read the rest? You know, the part that essentially invalidates those studies (as it should, because speed-dating is hardly an appropriate setting for anyone to evaluate mates on anything besides physical appearance, it is a path-of-least-resistance heuristic and to draw generalizable conclusions from such a study is patently retarded). But I mean, for shits and giggles, why don't you only read the parts that you feel agree with you. By all means.

You know, I actually NEVER thought about that. Great point. Admittedly penis size can be changed surgically, but it's, you know, not exactly a good idea.

That's simply false. I'm going to assume you did not read the full abstract.

I never said women do not care about physical attractiveness. I said men care more. And they do. And I have provided evidence for this, which you have failed to do for any of your arguments.

I'm not here to espouse calling fat women "curvy" or touting total body positivity. When I say "normal", I mean "normal"--just average, not overweight, not particularly thin, regular women. I don't care if obesity is widespread and that makes people think it's normal, that doesn't make it healthy or okay to support. But Erin Heatherton isn't normal either, and yeah, I like looking at her too, but even she doesn't look the way she does in photographs or giant billboards. Edit: I'm also not here t…

You say "study after study" without providing one after I shared a peer-reviewed article that shows the opposite. Edit: I can do this all day For nearly 70 years, studies have shown large sex differences in human mate selection preferences. However, most of the studies were restricted to a limited set of mate selection criteria and to college students, and neglecting relationship status. In this study, 21,245 heterosexual participants between 18 and 65 years of age (mean age 41) who at the time …

Short version: Because it doesn't upset people as much. Long version: Men care about physical attractiveness in mates more than women do. Women, whether for reactionary or biological reasons, complementarily value being attractive more than men do. As a result, women's self esteem is far more linked to their sense of physical desirability than are men's. THIS IS NOT TO SAY that men don't value their own physical attractiveness, it's just a matter of degrees. Eating disorders and elective cosmeti…

Frankly, I suspect there are people who don't fit traditional gender roles common in both genders, which means there's someone for (almost) everyone. If history's any indication, MOST people get laid. The only issue is how happy people are with their roles, their prospects, etc.

I think society has reached a point where endangering the future of our species due to people not being attracted to one another, however biologically "wired" that notion is, is not a real or valid concern. If anything, people should procreate a little less.

I think it depends on the person. Some people find it empowering, others don't. Some people are angry and acting out, some people just like the conquest on its own. My sense is that some individuals are very attracted to being thought of as particularly special--in women this often manifests as wanting to be treated as princesses, in men, it's often some kind of Genghis Khan envy where they want to have "any woman they want" and possess a vast and infinite harem. This doesn't necessarily constit…

I mean, again, this isn't really my "thing". I can understand both it being repugnant as well as very personally validating. As far as I'm concerned, it's kind of a different strokes for different folks sort of thing. The only solutions I would give to people would be to teach potential victims of abuse to know how to spot "game" if that's not what they want.

And why does it matter if you pay for sex? Because it doesn't feel like a conquest. Not something I value personally, but that's my impression of what makes fucking a hot stranger you just picked up more appealing to some people as compared with hiring a sex worker. You feel like you have broken through a barrier that simply does not exist with sex workers. It constitutes a feat as opposed to a sale. That being said, I wish just hiring a prostitute to get your rocks off with someone who looks da…

Hire high class prostitutes. It's not complicated. And it's reliable.
