What she can do, however, is say that the kid was the result of a drunken one-night stand and that she has no idea who the father is. Such a measure would go a long way to eliminating paternal fraud and identity fraud. This seems like a rather convenient way to lend weight to your own arguments: When a self-proclaimed feminist agrees with you you either ignore that status or say "this is a good feminist". When a self-proclaimed feminist disagrees with you, you use them to characterise all feminists, saying "feminists believe that … ". Your last link has a header "can children consent to DNA testing?" and that links to a flowchart which says that a person with "parental responsibility" can consent to having the kid tested. I.E. in the UK most presumptive fathers would be able to have a DNA test performed without any proscription. If you're referring to my headline writing - "sensationalising" the headline is a common accusation here on Reddit - I wanted to express, I think, the nature of their relationship. I.E. that they were not married, but they did have a relationship together. From TFA you'll see that they planned (the father claims, at least) to raise the baby together, or at least that he planned involvement in the kid's life. I really feel for the guy - this situation must be distressing. What seems interesting from a legal standpoint, and which may give him a good chance of winning, is that he only discovered the adoption plans the day his daughter was born - he filed for a court order almost immediately, and before the adoption proceedings actually began.
