China’s government is more competent and accomplished than America’s America interferes in other countries politics more than Russia does Both these things are objectively true. Having a basic grasp of economics and geopolitics does not make one Anti-American

A very unhealthy thing I see people do sometimes is trying to find relationships on the basis of indulging a kink/fetish. I’m not against trying to indulge a kink, but these things can be pretty fluid. What happens when your kinks change?

The one good proverb to come out of the red pill is “she’s not your girl, it’s just your turn.” Even if your relationship lasts a lifetime, one day one of you will dump your partner and hook up with the Grim Reaper. So don’t stress too much about these things, just be happy while it lasts.

Drawn, textual porn have little-to-no harm generated in their production, whereas video porn (by which I mean porn with real people) has the potential to have abused actors/actresses. In a world where we could confirm no one was harmed in the production of video porn I suppose there would be no reason to ban it but we don’t live in such a world.

While I do believe video pornography should be banned, drawn and textual forms of it are perfectly fine.

Perhaps, but many physical attributes change with time. A relationship has to be build on more than just physical attraction

Not really, France, Germany, the US, etc. have similar birthrates. I think birthrates fall once children stop being an economic boost and start being an economic cost for families, which happens once a society is no longer rural.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/24 01:27 AM
2

I think that material factors and the like are far more determinant of birthrate than ideology. Qatar for example is an extremely strict Islamic theocracy. Their birthrate? 1.84 per woman, below replacement. So it's not as simple as "conservative society = fecund society."

Now to be clear I for one approve of the emancipation of women which has resulted from industrialization. I still believe that women were generally happier with their relationships in the pre-industrial world. I cite the same book (Inside the Kingdom) to give you examples of Saudi women defending the extremely patriarchal system they lived in, on a variety of theological and social grounds. And why wouldn’t they? It was a system that worked for their mothers, grandmothers and so forth. It ensure…

I think society as a whole, including both men and women, were happier when it comes to relationships and the like in the pre-industrial past than today. (Obviously it’s a different story when it comes to say medicine, but we’re talking about relationships here). I once read about a radicalized Saudi Arabian in the 1970s. He described how before industrialization, men and women existed in a rural society in which both genders had carefully defined roles and duties. He explained how fulfilling th…

As I understand it, SK feminists would literally encourage the abortions of male babies, ran a cult around the topic, etc. Now that doesn’t excuse the heinous stuff SK males have been up to (the deepfake crisis) but they are hardly innocent. Or perhaps another way to look at it is that both men and women in SK are victims of the absurdly capitalist nature of their society, which has eroded their social fabric entirely. Given wider political trends SK is a dead nation walking; I wouldn’t be surpr…

One of the funnier (in a grim way) stories of the 20th century is Sayyid Qutb’s life. The man was a liberal Egyptian Muslim who went to America and was so horrified by the liberal lifestyle he saw (mind you this was 1940s America). The two things which disgusted him in particular were American women (on account of their promiscuity) and American music, especially jazz. He would go on to write books on Islamic philosophy and Islamist praxis which would guide and inspire groups as wildly disparate…

But that’s so risky. I don’t mean to frighten you but even if your partner means well and takes the necessary precautions things can go horribly wrong. The neck is a very delicate and important part of the body, there’s a lot in there that can be damaged by accident.

Did you read the article? She’s talking about assisted suicide in the case of her developing a disease like dementia in old age. I think the right to die in dignity is worth looking into seriously. And FWIW the author is a married woman so it’s not a single hedonist woman thing. It’s a human right.

It's more complex than you make it seem. There's a strong sense of "cultural chauvinism" amongst Indians, to be sure. It's a response to the destruction of Indian society and culture under colonialism; as part of the assertion of Indian self-rule people have rallied around Indian cultural norms even in cases when said norms are best abandoned. (In Hindu circles this attitude goes even deeper because of the long era of persecution that religion has faced over the past 1000 years or so). People ti…

In general outsider criticism of a culture's valid flaws fall flat, especially when it's a Westerner criticizing non-Western cultures. Certainly there are serious issues in Indian culture, but those are conversations and conflicts which are up to Indians to resolve.

I think the main reason men are more desperate than women when it comes to dating is scarcity. For the girl it's just a date; if it doesn't work out she can arrange another with someone else literally the next day. For the guy it literally might be his one chance at a relationship, a life-defining moment.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:32 PM

I don’t understand this. Is your partner not knowing your phone password really that common? In literally every relationship I know (within my family) the man and woman know each other’s phone, email, etc. passwords.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:31 PM

That’s not what “sex work” means. People who sell the commodity of sex (prostitutes, pornstars, etc.) are sex workers. That does not make all women sex workers or all sex, sex work. (Heck, even sex workers engage in actual sex outside of sex work. These are two different things). The idea of sex work has little to imply when it comes to the way women see sex. I’m sure there are women out there ago who genuinely enjoy sex as much as men. And before you ask I’m also sure they’re a minority but my …

I read this post and my initial question was "What if you don't like his opinions and wants?" I suppose your response would be "Perhaps we're not meant for a relationship then" but like that's why he's trying to be what you want him to be.

I would prefer the term "Be strong! Be competent!". That's what you are saying when you say "man up!" I think "man up", if anything, is sexist in that it devalues femininity by casting strength as a purely masculine trait.

I appreciate the prayer, but if you want to pray for me, pray that I stop being so anxious/stressed all the time😅
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 09:35 PM

Yeah, that's the thing. Objectively, it's not worth kicking off that firestorm solely in order to assuage my own anxiety. It would just be one of those dark little thoughts chilling in the crevices of my mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 09:15 PM

I wouldn’t ask my partner for a paternity test; while I would like one I understand asking for one would be hurtful. As for accidental pregnancies I don’t plan on having sex with someone who’s not okay with pregnancy happening. (Perhaps TMI but I plan on not having PIV sex until such time as we are okay with having a child).

It’s the norm in my religion and culture. I am open to it, but I’ve seen it both work out well and end disastrously.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:51 PM

I suppose so, although I would want some sort of thing to open it in the case of a medical emergency, pain, or whatnot. Maybe a box with a key that alerts her when opened. Perhaps it sounds absurd but if it would make her feel better such things can be arranged.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:49 PM

I want children, yes. I would like to have said children with a partner whom I love and who loves me. I neither expect to be trusted nor do I offer trust. Or rather, I can trust but with verification, and I would be happy to offer my partner any verification she wishes, on any matter. Perhaps that is not a relationship many would like, which is okay. I feel to trust implicitly is to be foolish.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:38 PM

Some of us want those things.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:25 PM

I think that this is an insecurity I would have, even if I was in a healthy, happy relationship. It is a mental flaw within me, part of a pattern of such “catastrophic thinking” that had been a part of my life for years now. That said, my hangups are my own, and I can understand why a woman would be hurt if I asked for a paternity test. Many women make it clear such a request, even if for the sake of my peace of mind, would be a relationship ending thing. So if I have a child I don’t plan on ask…

I was curious to see who liked me (turned out to be someone I was uninterested in, and quite possibly a bot) The "religion" and "what are they looking for" filters, which matter to me, were paylocked. If I'm sifting through an ocean of people might as well filter for people I actually want to date. It was a bad impulse buy.

It really depends on the circumstances. I am an American but I come from a fairly religious/conservative family, whose reaction to me being in a casual relationship would likely be a disaster. So for me marriage is basically the barrier to any sort of romance.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:14 PM

In my opinion physical/visual attraction is the most visceral and thus objectively the most desirable form of attraction. I wouldn’t say it’s enough to build a successful relationship on but without it there’s zero chance of anything happening.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 10:25 PM

Thinking about hookups and dating reminds me of back when I tried dating apps in college. I didn’t get many matches but when I did get a match it gave me a massive “high” feeling. Like a heady, pleasant warmth in the chest that radiated outward.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 10:16 PM

I do not understand how it isn’t that serious. You aren’t hooking up with someone because they just happened to be there, it’s because you are attracted to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 10:13 PM

Well, clearly we have wildly different views on the value of sex and what a person is saying when they engage in it with someone. I must confess I find your viewpoint incomplete, in that it reduces the act of sex down to the physical collision of bodies, stripping it of the deep emotional side of things.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 09:29 PM

They just looked like they wouldn’t totally suck in bed. And there is the validation: “he looks like he can make me feel good.” It seems you and your friends give that gift without thinking much of it, but maybe it means a lot more to the person on the receiving end.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 09:08 PM

What else can hooking up mean? "He's physically attractive, he's funny/charismatic, I like him. I feel he'll make me feel good." Certainly those thoughts are going through a woman's brain (even if it's her subconscious) when she decides to hook up with someone. I want people to think that way about me. Perhaps one can argue that I shouldn't crave that sort of validation of my appearance and personality from an external source. But I do, and while hookups are not the only way to receive such vali…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 08:52 PM

The way I see it, when a woman wants to hook up with you, she is stating: "I find you physically attractive and charismatic to the utmost degree, where my raw attraction to you drives me to want to sleep with you even though we just met." Why is it wrong to want someone to see me in that light?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 08:27 PM

The key word is "just." If someone said I am "marriage material not just hookup material" I would be happy, if someone said I am "marriage material not hookup material" I would be hurt.

I would guess so. More attractive people are likely more content in their normal/vanilla lifestyle. FWIW, I do on some level admire the sort of person who knows they like a kink and are willing to stick their neck out to get what they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 08:15 PM

The populations of people who have kinks and those who act on them (ie, by joining a community) are likely different. If I had to guess the distribution of kinkiness is equal across the general population, while more desperate/daring people actually act on their kinks.

I turned out somewhat successful with academics but I think that if my teachers had been stricter with me as a child when it came to things like handwriting, neatness, time management, etc. I would have benefitted from it for the rest of my life. I’ve never done anything related to butt stuff and I don’t really like the idea of it, so I’m the wrong person to ask. But if my hypothetical gf/wife wanted me to perform oral sex on her butt, I’m insisting on a full clean out beforehand. I’d probably want her to put on a dental dam beforehand too.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 04:33 PM

I think it’s fine to have fetishes and desires. I think it’s good to talk to your partner about these things. But if your partner says “no” I don’t think that’s an excuse to use porn to “get your fix”. Nor is it their fault if you do. If fulfilling a fetish means that much to you (and I’m not saying it’s wrong if it is) then you need to find someone who will want to share that experience with you. Moreover seeing something in porn and then wanting to do it IRL is a recipe for disaster. Porn is l…

I think you raise interesting points. I would love to know about how “kinky” sex was back in pre-Internet time. I do suspect certain acts (oral sex, frankly) may have been somewhat common back in the day, while other things like BDSM are new, or at least were very rare before. Modern hygiene also factors into this; sex acts involving butt stuff have historically been a no-go for a reason. As for the modern world I think young men need to be given a reality check.
