I think the idea was there's a lot more one can do with the degree than make beauty products. They could go into pharmaceuticals, food industry, etc. I think whats sexist is that because they're girls they're doing it for beauty products. Some undlubtly are, but certainly not all.

I believe I heard something like this on QI or some Penn and Teller thing. Because the parts are manufactured in countries with less stringent environmental policies and then shipped across the planet on huge ships burning tons of fuel, it ends up being carbon neutral to buying a regular car.

I feel that any group devoted to the betterment of only a subset of society is counter productive, by affirming the separation and differences between people. I think hating somebody because they're white or a man is no better than hating someone because they're black or a woman. It's the same thing, it's just as bad, and it's toxic to society. I can see how you're connecting the dots there but there's plenty of exceptions to that rule. Also, it has to do with many men seeking other professions because they can make more money or be more successful and many women being happy with teaching. I mean, I saw the post here not too long ago about the differences in majors and careers and income between men and women, it isnt because men aren't allowed to be teachers, it's because they'd rather do something else

Let this also be an example that police should want cameras on the job, to protect themselves of false accusations. If they have to shoot someone to defend themselves and the public it can easily be confirmed that it was or want necessary. It also protects the public from rampant abuse of power.

Absolutely, you don't want to encourage people to not report real rapes because they're afraid if it can't be proven then they'll be the one going to prison. But if it can be proven they lied about it or made a false accusation they absolutely should be held accountable. It's deterrent against lying, not reporting actual rapes.

I appreciate your sentiment. I have actually been to two different psycologists. First to address the anxiety and depression problems, which are now much more under control despite not medicating. I went more recently to try to address my self image problems along with being crazy about a girl who didn't really care about me. That was less effective that I'd hoped for.

It's true. There was just an infographic here the other day that said boys are generally better at math and science. (assuming that infographic was accurate) I would say that many programs created to drive equal opportunities do not give all candidates equal opportunities, but rather gives a subset a forced advantage passed off as being fair. STEM is pushed for everybody because it's incredibly practical in the real world.

I work in a STEM career, and while the male to female ratio is more diverse than my college classes were, there are still more men. I think the point of what Marvel is doing is to bring more equality/diversity to STEM majors and careers by enticing girls to get interested in them. But you are right, the more continued emphasis we put on advancing minorities the more the majority become the minority.
