I know this is a men's sub, but I actually wanted to say something about this. This is what social media has done to women. And I say that as a woman, it's totally fucked up. Maybe? I'm not sure if it's everyone, but from personal experience and most of my stepdad's friends are engineers, they all lack a normal sense of social skills. But they're all in their 50s so maybe it's just age.

I like how you said engineering guys. Honestly though, you're right. My stepdad is an engineer and his ex-wife is one of the most homely looking women I've ever seen. When he met my mom I'm sure he was like "WTF have I been doing with my life?!" But also, I've found that a lot of engineering folks (both men and women) lack a lot of social and dating skills.
