I'm saying that it shouldn't be. Not when, according to the law, a child is their parents' responsibility. Her parents were ok with it. Again, I wouldn't be ok with it, but they were. There was no "taking advantage of" or they would have stopped it. She loved the guy. The guy loved her. The parents love the guy. I say let them be.

Also, her parents knew him, knew about the relationship and liked him. Did you even read the article you're commenting on? If they weren't ok with her dating a 20 year-old, they could have stopped it. If they wanted him out of her life, they could have forced it. If they weren't ok with her getting knocked up, they could have had "the talk" with them both. As it stands, everyone was ok with it except the government. Freedom, indeed...

Actually, the legal age of consent in most US states is 16. It's quite possible that she's less than a year from being legal to make that decision on her own. Having said that, I wouldn't want my 15 year-old daughter dating a 20 year-old, but I would just vote to kick his ass. I certainly wouldn't want to throw him in jail or label him for life. That's just wrong.

I don't disagree with this point. Fifteen is too young to have a child. But if her parents aren't upset with her dating this guy, where is the problem?
