The list of promises for women to make to men: I promise to not try to get you to promise any of the stupid shit on this list. Blowjobs.

Right, but that's totally temporary. If you're married, you automatically get BAH. If not, you get it, at a reduced rate, once you hit E-5. At that point, it's a difference of about 400 bucks. As for separation pay, trust me, you'll have far more cash to use for what you want to use it on if you're not giving it all to the people at home.

The Cash payout is something like 400 a month, maybe. That's far from 'Huge'. Where i've seen the most people fall into the trap are the young kids that get married because they can automatically start drawing BAH before they hit E-5 and move out of the barracks. That's just fucking stupid, and it always ends poorly.

I don't think it's that, I think it's more that it's a whole chunk of our emotional spectrum that society tries to cauterize; that we, as men, are "allowed" to be as aggressive and dominant and competitive as we want, and "not allowed" to have any other feelings, because then we are "weak". Emotions, in any context, are valid and true, even if the reason you have them is irrational. I'm male, sometimes things make me want to cry. I do not feel that i have to hide that beneath a veneer of bravado…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
