This sub spends too much time complaining about feminism ... feminism is (by and large) just a bunch of people infighting and shouting about things that don't matter... Their movement has lost its way. We need to take advantage of that. Had me at the title. Lost me at the mixed message.

I would like to see some sources on that. It's not that I don't believe you when you say it, I would just like to read more on the matter. There is such a staunch anti-feminism sentiment growing in spaces like these, and there are times when that sentiment overrules the issues that (I thought) MRM was built upon to begin with. Posts like these just confirm my suspicion.

I'm sorry but this sounds like it was written by someone who thinks they have an insider understanding of something but they actually don't. So suggesting that people write their congressman halts discussion and is shaming? Look I'm sorry you see it that way but that's not what I intended. I only suggested ding that instead of bickering because of your suggestion that doing so is futile because of a 1985 Supreme Court decision. Writing your congressman is still a valuable tool, no matter how useless people view today's congress. A Supreme Court decision made 30 years ago does not curtail any and all argument for allowing women to sign up for the draft. Sure, okay, perhaps it will take more than just writing your congressman. The issue has been revisited numerous times since that decision, so it's not over just because SCOTUS said it is.

I invite you to write your congressman on the issue. The only reason only men are forced to sign up is because that's what the law specifies - if the language were to be changed then it would become a nonissue.

I like that you've compiled your sources and actually cited them, and it serves as a great counter to this extremely misleading graphic. My only gripe with it is the inclusion of the Air Force study. Personally I think it seems a bit dated, and of anyone has any more recent data on this issue pertaining to military, I'd love to see it. A lot has changed for female service members in the last 27 or so years. EDIT: I'm bad at math, I guess.

Sometimes this subreddit really pushes my buttons. So much so that I'm ready to discount everything I see on here. Then redditors like you show up and make everything right in the world again. Ah yeah that makes sense. Yeah I agree feminism has drifted away from gaining equality, and has grown more about destroying the "patriarchy" by putting men in their place. My parents raised me as a feminist, and their school of thought was that feminism was synonymous with gender egalitarianism and was about defeating gender roles. It's obvious this modern school of thought is not about that anymore. It's turned into "us vs. them" which I hate. And it's that "us vs. them" mentality that I guess …

That's a fair enough point. Although, I will admit I do believe that in the diverse society that we live in today, with the demographics changing as drastically as they are, and as we approach a more "globalized" network of people, sometimes it is the responsibility of the government to protect minorities and groups. That's just my opinion though, you do bring up a great point.

To be fair I've heard many MRM arguments that ask for government recognition of the issues, such as the male dropout rate and suicide rates. Then again it's been within this subreddit, and I think a lot of MRAs have different ideas of what being an MRA is. Although I will add that I don't think a law or legislation that recognises or addresses a, we'll call it "minority plight," is exactly a stepping stone to socialism. But you were right in pointing that out to your friend, I believe.

I hope this idea that feminism is leading to communism/socialism isn't a common theory. I get enough of that sort of fear mongering from my conservative friends, sure as hell don't want to hear it here.
