You basically become blacklisted if you do not. Every job application, university application, etc. asks if you have registered or not. Checking "no" is an automatic denial. I believe you get fucked in taxes as well, but I have no citation for that.

Why is this in our subreddit? Learn the difference between woman hating and MRA.

Incentivizing, not forcing.

I upvoted you... and then I read the last sentence. :(

You are being downvoted for treating anecdotal evidence as something with weight. "They're probably hiding something," isn't very convincing either. It's okay to have the opinion you do, but what you need is why.

I'm an absolute equality nazi. And honestly, quotas are a terrible implementation of equality in policy.

This. Simply put, not every man fits in a traditional gender role, and the same goes for women. With that said, the latent inequality tension is the real focus of MRAs, I've found.

I'm angry on two fronts. One, I'm angry that this guy is being treated poorly for his experience, because clearly this experience was not consensual. One of the comments was "it's not rape if you are a guy." How absurd. On the second front, I'm angry as a gay man. This is the type of horror story that estranges straight guys from being friends with gay guys who aren't assholes. Grr.

This is not a MR issue. This is just spitting on women.

I've never cried so hard over a story in my life. 23, male, no kids... and it was such a visceral cry. The ending was worth the read.

I'm surprised so much discourse is going on over a made-up /b/ story.

Gay men are men, too. And as a gay guy, I love this subreddit and contribute occasionally. Men's Rights and Feminism aren't mutually exclusive, you can be for the rights of both. MR is just often flagged as an attack on women without listening to the information, which just wants there to be complete equity for men and women alike. Custody, Prison Sentencing, Selective Service, Pay, you name it and it should be completely equal.

The link was great, but honestly I came in here to upvote this subject line.

It's definitely a MR article, but not one that you'd think of right off the bat. The gross expansion of the term abuse is definitely something for us to be alerted to. Basically, any time a guy's condom breaks or anything that might end up with an unexpected pregnancy is now suspected abuse if you follow this article's definition. Some of the commentors say such, but are then shot down by all of the anti-men readers that only see men as aggressors.

I have no links or citations to deliver you and this is likely not relevant enough for you, but I'm a male Social Work major and a statistic we needed to know for our class is that there are <24% of males in the profession. Perhaps that can give you some sort of lead or useful fact? It's common knowledge that nurses are primarily female, not necessarily other civil service professions.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
