oh sorry for not replying! it would not come out then same with salt pork, unfortunately. pork rinds have a completely different texture!

hmm, my deabreakers are fairly limited. no smoking or illegal drug use, no kids (have them already or want them), and no family history of baldness. also, no guns/hunting. i used to be all "ew! no vegans/vegetarians!" but got over that with my fiancé, who was vegan when i met. it was a silly non-issue in the end. mine came mostly from past relationships.

You can use a potato masher or pastry blender, even a meat tenderizing mallet! A food processor will also work, but it'll give a slightly different texture.

Be totally prepared for 'all eyes on you friendly interrogation' as the only person who isn't a coworker OR 'I have nothing I can contribute in this conversation' OR sectioning off of guests for private conversations. All are great and easy to navigate. Betty Draper does this really well! This cracked me up -- I've met most of these people at the Christmas get togethers, and I always feel a little odd duck out, because not only am I not remotely a researcher, I tend to not have much in common wi…

Hmm, we don't currently have the kind of money that allows us to buy from local growers or vendors outside of the local farmer's market chain (It's called Sprouts, I do most of our shopping there!) but I'll keep that in mind for when we have a little more money, because that's definitely something I'd like to incorporate for us. A signature touch is a great idea! We are crafty people generally, so that won't be hard to dream up! Thank you!

Oh yeah, why didn't I think of this? I'd rather not keep throwing things out if we're going to do this often!

Ohhh, thank you thank you! We are having the guests bring some wine/beer (we're in a big Beer state and I don't want to disappoint!). We'll have to discuss the menu, but I have the feeling he'll tell me to go wild, since I'm a pretty good cook. I know nothing messy (no red sauce or mole!), that's all I've got so far. Hmmm... question: What's a good solution for dinnerware that isn't quite paper plates? We only have a few of our own plates.

Nobody really likes therapy. You're not supposed to have a good ol' fun time in therapy. You push through the uncomfortable parts of it because you care enough about your mental health, and your life, and the people who love you, to learn how to be your best self. You can keep making excuses for himself and for yourself, but you're just going to be back here in a few months asking for us to pat you on the ass and tell you that you're doing a good job. I'm absolutely going to give you encourageme…

You can't force someone to get help for a mental illness. They have to want it, and it looks like he doesn't want to. It looks like you also might not want to. Don't marry him unless you two are set on seeking therapy for your mental illnesses. It will not be healthy for either of you. Leaving them untreated can be as destructive as leaving any other illness untreated. If he refuses to go, you have to save yourself and get out of this relationship. CBT - cognitive behavioral therapy - is great f…

I read plenty of drama, but in the form of many, many books. If you want a "better" way to waste some time or relax, though I honestly don't think reading gossip rags is too terrible, pick up a book and read that!

Cute patterns, but cheap polyester fabric and cheaply sewn. These aren't the kind of dresses you'd want to wear every day, they're more like "wear for a few hours on a Saturday and oops, they have a hole in the sewing!" You can find the exact same dresses generally on Amazon through Asian sellers, or through ModCloth, or ebay sellers.

Right now, my fiance is in the midst of deciding where his graduate studies are going to take him. It's a huge decision that'll direct his whole career, and he's having a lot of trouble choosing. I've been scheduling extra hiking and long walks for us to take, because he and I do a lot of talking things out during them, and other times we'll just hike in silence for miles and miles and he'll be running through the situation in his head and it'll get him a little closer. Plus, on the 10+ mile hik…

We already have one! This was something that was important to us as soon as we'd picked a date for our wedding, since it marks us going from just a partnership to a family. J and I are working to create a nice design to hang it. Together, we will: Learn with open minds, Create something new every day, Help each other reach our most impossible goals, Practice frugality and charity every day, & Make each other proud.

I'm at home while looking for part-time work, and also working on a handmade craft business on the side. I do have a lot of free time, but that is usually spent at a cafe with my laptop or craft supplies and a friend. Or thrifting with said friend. Every day starts with a 5 mile jog/walk around 6:30am, and MWF I lift in our home gym. Following that, picking up from whatever we did the night before. Monday is laundry, grocery shopping, and meal prep day. I prep anything like dried beans, salsa, c…

Heels are something I've never been comfortable in, but I have a few cute pairs that I'd love to be able to wear more often. I just don't know how. I always think I look stupid and sound like a horse in them. I've watched videos and everything. Even when I was a healthy weight, I just felt uncoordinated and awkward. Plus they always hurt, and I definitely have the right sizes. Is there a way to get more used to them and stop looking/feeling so silly?

Depression and anxiety suck, but they don't have to ruin your life. If you're in treatment, hopefully you're learning cognitive behavioral therapy skills. If not, please bring this up with your counselor, and recommend you work on one of the many, many CBT workbooks you can find online! They might even have sheets available. CBT skills are valuable for anyone, really. So even if you don't want to work on them with your therapist, find one and work on it. Depression and anxiety are gatekeepers of…

I think you're coming from a much different perspective than me. I'm not white, and don't really care about preserving any one race over another. I don't think aborting a white fetus is somehow worse than aborting a Colombian fetus.

I love Valentine's day, and will take any excuse to get cheesy with decorations and crafts! I've made J a hand embroidered brain, bought him some truffles, and grabbed a Mexican chocolate stout beer. I'll probably make some black bean brownies or maybe cheesecake bites. Don't know if he's doing anything for me, and I don't care!

I've had an abortion, and I'm very pro-choice. I strongly believe that every child should be a wanted child. I don't care how many you've had, for what reasons, how old you are, or whatever else. It's none of my business, and I hope each and every woman who does seek an abortion will talk their options out and speak with a counselor just to make sure they're making the right choice for them. I also don't believe adoption is an alternative to abortion. With over 500,000 kids in the system in the …

That is a really good post -- also, I really like his style. It's so rare to see men drawn in different ways too. Moreso than women, I think. It'd be nice to see a lot more artists branch out and develop styles independent of this type of stuff -- but I know half of art is trying to rake in that commission money.

I looked through my artists lists on Twitter (I follow a ton of them), and the only person I think I follow who draws fat characters is Jenn St. Onge, who is coincidentally not a fat woman herself. But if you look through her character designs, even she tends to default to the hourglass-shape. It's just more aesthetically pleasing than, say, the apple shape.
/r/RedPillWives30/01/17 06:49 PM
16

Hmm, this looks to me like it's just amateur cartoonists (and those adult doll makers online) not really having the skills to draw more than what they learned, with the typical hourglass figure being the standard for cartoon women. A few of those examples look like build-an-avatar things to me, too. I don't really think this is just a feminist thing, I think most artists tend to draw themselves more attractive, or they lack the skills to draw themselves realistically at least.

Lately we've been taking Sunday mornings to go on long walks through the neighborhoods, putting some books into Little Free Libraries along the way. J buys us coffee, I look through our books to pick a few good ones, and we head out. He's been aiming for an average of 15k steps per day, so this knocks it out early so he can relax and do whatever he wants on Sunday. I end up with around 20k/day as a result. Turn Ons: Creativity, handiness, and a goofy sense of humor that doesn't punch down. Loves animals and is nice to them. A thick, full, medium-to-long length hair -- and good, thick eyebrows! Oooh, top three tips. Hmm... Get one of those organizers for your floss. Even if you're only working with a few things to begin with, it'll make it so much easier to keep it all together. Don't worry about the back of the hoop being a disaster! You'll learn over time how to make it look neat. Good: We have some wedding details nailed down and can kind of coast for a while! Plus we went on a brewery tour with J and his grad school friends, and while I didn't have much in common with any of them, it was still fun. Bad: I've had a rough emotional week, and I found myself sinking pretty deep into a depressive episode. I've been doing what I can to work through it like usual, but some days were really bad. I love this. Crafting. I'm an avid knitter and embroidery/cross stitcher. But I love to try new crafts and test my skills -- watercolors and pottery were my last two. The words "hipster" and "milennial" have both lost their meanings. Hipster just means "person who does things I don't like and probably has brown hair and glasses" and "milennial" just means "anyone young I feel like whining about." Bragging about binge-watching TV shows is pathetic. Sitting in front of the TV for hours on end with nothing to show for it other than pop culture knowledge is sad. I wasn't going to answer these questions, but I read through the post and saw I'd have something different to say, so it would be okay to post. So, how old are you, roughly? You don't have to be exact if you don't want to. 29. What's your relationship status? Also, how many years? Engaged, wedding is in October. 3 years together. Do you have kids already... Nope. Happy New Year!! We had a great night. Started out by seeing the lights at the local park as a double date with my best friend and her long-time partner, me and J. Afterwards, J and I went home and played a few board games, ate nachos, and drank some beer. At 11, we pulled out our 2016 note jar (one of those Pinterest things) and looked back through out photos and my instagram to see what we did all year. It was fun to review it all with him. It's totally that. My family get togethers were 4-5 people, quiet chatting and catching up with each other. Movies and music were always played at quiet, comfortable levels. The guitar strumming while people are talking has always been a pet peeve of mine. It comes across as so rude. But in previous years, they've had family singalongs, so I think I'll take the strumming.

Whew, I love my in-laws, but they are a loud bunch!! It was all way too much for me to handle for four days. They'd put movies on at 50% volume and then someone would pull off a guitar and start strumming whenever people were sitting around talking. I'd try to step outside to get a breather and people would follow me! When my dad sent a photo of their spread back home, I teared up a little thinking about the roasted brussels sprouts and bacon and leafy green salad. I think I'm the only person wh…

In between dry heaving my brains out and having fever nightmares, I was useless. J almost made it out unscathed, but Saturday night he ran a fever and it finally took him out. This isn't your husband's problem. This is your problem right now. So, here's something that people really don't understand sometimes. You can cut out take-out food and junk food all you want, but if you're still overeating the "good" foods you're cooking, you're doing yourself a disservice. Yeah, I'm brown and rice is my least favorite part of any meal, no matter what fantastic seasoning combinations I'll come up with. I'd rather eat the protein and veggies too. The only time I'll waste my calories on rice is if it's the yellow jasmine rice I like. I haven't eaten plain white rice since I was a kid, at least. I don't know how anyone can stand it! First off, get yourself a food scale ($10-15 on Amazon or at Target) and weigh your portions. You can eat anything that he eats, just at a smaller portion. Diet doesn't have to mean salad. Don't forget to calculate calories in oil, butter, etc when you cook with it. And yes, the food you sneak when you're making the meal counts. /r/eatcheapandhealthy is a good resource for this. In my relationship, emotional and physical intimacy with another man or woman would be considered cheating. Purchasing sex acts (strippers, escorts, cam girls, etc) is also considered cheating. They are hard lines that, to me, cannot be crossed without causing irreparable damage to the foundation of our commitment to each other. I won't be with someone who doesn't respect me, and I wouldn't want him to be with someone who didn't respect him.

What I liked: I really enjoyed the SMV and Kindness challenges. I managed to do a lot for the Kindness challenge, and the SMV one was truly a challenge for me. What I didn't like: The listen more/talk less, but it was actually J who didn't like it. He said it felt weird and too quiet, and he missed my babbling and chatter. I have a pretty good sized collection of dresses and skirts that have mostly come from thrift shops. Taking a look at the brands, they range from Banana Republic to off-brand to department store (looks like mostly Macy's). eShakti is great and easily customizable to your measurements, which is great if you have exaggerated measurements, an hourglass figure, etc. I find that …

I've been getting some nice samples in my Sephora Play box. I've only ever used one perfume, Bond Girl 007 from Avon (weirdly un-Avonlike scent). I like citrus scents, and I think when it's in my budget, I might swing for CITRINE by Nest.

I'm not surprised at the results, I think that it echoes the mentality and perception of most of the women I know. Men with well-kept beards are definitely popular these days. For myself, I'm honestly not attracted to men with facial hair. When I was doing online dating (OkCupid, it was before Tinder became as popular as it is), I would get matched with a lot of men with facial hair. I'd often times give them a chance anyway, but I've just never found myself attracted to beardy dudes. Often time…

I also think part of the reason I really hate childfree women is that so many women who desperately want children and would do anything to have them can't and you're just walking around with a body that can carry children and you're just like "LOL nah!" It's so aggravating. As one of those women who can't carry a child, I really hope nobody feels this way on my behalf. I don't feel this way about women who don't want children, I think that would make me very selfish and self-centered. Their deci…

1.) I'm grateful that J and I have the same taste in pretty much everything. Movies, music, food, decorations, what we want out of a future house. We went through Ikea on Sunday and got excited about the same exact things. It makes everything so much easier. I think oatmeal raisin cookies are awesome and I am disappointed when there are chocolate chips instead. I think most of today's "introverts" are just whiny self-important brats who think being quiet and reserved makes them "special" and "unique." Oh wah wah, little baby, you like books and tea? So do I. You don't like making phone calls or having unexpected guests or too much social interaction? Ooh, I like this challenge! I tend to wear gym clothes around the house. J will be excited to see my peter pan collars again. So I'll try my usual makeup (bb cream, concealer, eyebrows, eyeshadow, mascara, light blush), but play up making my eyes look larger. Considering we did one last year, and I'm obese, I'm happy with where we are. It's always wild to me that whenever we hike, I'm the only fat person we see! Bad: Still no movement on the job front. I love this. I have the dress that I wore when I went on my first date with J, three years ago, and I've worn it on each anniversary, the date we got engaged, and if it wasn't black, I'd probably find a way to wear it on the day of the wedding itself! I've been thinking way too hard about this for the past hour, Camille!!! Here's the album to go with the people I talk about below. My mother hasn’t influenced what I find beautiful, but I think my grandma did. She was a sturdy Mexican-Apache woman with impeccable hair and eyebrows. The prolonged cycle of meeting and parting and longing causes an extreme honeymoon effect leaving you with an unrealistic image of each other. This is truly one of the most important things to take away from this, in my eyes. I'm not new to makeup, I've been working on it for years. Watching videos, practicing. My skin is also naturally nice, which is a plus (but it doesn't really give me a "confidence boost," physical appearance things don't really work that way for me) so I don't wear foundation or anything like that because that just makes me look very fake. It's just not something that really makes me look good, just silly. Like putting lipstick on a pig :) I'm eating at a calorie deficit, and I'm not new to weig…

I don't need pointers or anything on diet. I eat at a calorie deficit, which is all that matters. I'm not new to diet at all, just trying it out again :) Makeup just isn't easy for me. I've watched hours of videos, tried it myself, and it still looks silly and bad on me. Many of the women at that makeup subreddit are already very pretty, so it helps. I've had it done professionally, and by friends who are very into makeup, and it just never looks right on me. I always look very... fake. Even wit…

Being attractive for him. I am already hard at work on losing weight (I am Class 1 obese). But I am not an attractive person, regardless. I am not very good at makeup (I look silly with it on), I try to dress well (I never wear pants outside of the gym, but I can't wear heels, I'm very short and lumpy so clothes don't look good on me, and tailoring is unfortunately out of the question for now). One thing I am going to try to do that is very small step is to keep my bra on until I go to bed. I am…

I think we have all experienced this when we try to lose weight, start using makeup, begin to defer to our SO’s. This is true for me, but especially at work. I am fat, and my co-workers love to eat. They are all thinner than I am, but it bothers them so deeply to see the meals I bring from home. It bothers them so much that they will often ask me "You're not trying to lose weight, are you?" It makes them feel insecure about their own choices, their own lack of drive, and their own "failures" whe…

I think laziness plays a big part in the loss of all things feminine I think this is so true. I handle meal prep and make big meals for my fiance to take to work, and I bring in leftovers for myself at times. The girls in my office are always stunned because for them, cooking is opening a can of something or microwaving raviolis. They always talk about how they just don't have the time to do these things, but they've always jumped to talk about TV shows they binge on.

Hmmm! I've been coming back to this thread a lot, and this series. I'm not really sure what my dominance level and thresholds are. I might just not be understanding the concepts very well. I've read the first post a few times now, and I feel like I'm too middle-of-the-road with everything. I think we might be a LHL, though LLH also makes sense -- aside from being repulsed and not respecting him. I definitely am attracted to him, and I do certainly respect him (and show him that much), but I do w…
