So what’s the difference between this and lovebombing? I thought the healthy relationships are supposed to be built on the slow burn as opposed to the immediate (sometimes toxic) chemistry?

This sub and the social life i am building post-divorce is really helping me see that being alone forever is not such a bad thing. And it is so true that being with a LVM is worse than being alone. I feel that my ex sucked my essence out of me over the years and now I am getting it back! We really don’t need them for anything in this era. Except...the D. My one question for you ladies is this: how do you satisfy sexual desires (aside from toys)? After a dead bedroom marriage and rediscovery of m…

It’s so wild how many of these guys there are out there! Like exact same stories! This sub is so wonderful.

This was excellent, thank you. I’m taking a break from dating until after the holidays but will definitely do this!

Oh i should clarify - the two men are emotionally immature!

Eh, my ex (39) and the last guy i “dated” (41) are both with 27 yo women right now. I’m 39 but have been told i look much younger. The whole thing kinda pisses me off. ETA: both of them very emotionally immature. Also meanwhile, i have had two men in their 60s hitting on me in the last week. Men are gross.

Sounds amazing. Just out of curiosity, where are these men coming from? People you already knew?

Yup- coming out of a dead bedroom marriage and i was in prime vulnerability stage for a man like this. Not broke financially, but broken on the inside. He presented a version of himself in the beginning that i fell for and the sex was so good (i had literally also been starving for physical attention). By the time i saw how he really is, it was too late. The oxytocin and dopamine had me hooked. I’m trying to move on now - every day gets easier.

Thank you! Subscribing now! Do you think this often correlates to anxious-avoidant pairing too? That explosive chemistry between the two...and the addiction.

Great post!! Especially about taking a chance on potential. Why do we do that!? Well, i think part of the issue is that in the lovebombing phase, they present you with the idealized version of themselves and we fall for that person who doesn’t actually exist. And then we hold on to it. No more!! Actions need to match words.

Great post. As drake says: They want you in their life as a wife That's why you want to have no sex, why you want to protest Why you want to fight for your right 'Cause you don't love them boys Pussy run everything, fuck that noise

I don’t know if I’m just in a man-hatey space right now, but i just cannot imagine any man being like this, especially single men around my age (39)

I totally know what you mean. And it felt so good when he told me I was like crack.

Yes 100%. I felt physically addicted. I swear i could feel the oxytocin/dopamine hits and then the withdrawals in periods with less contact.

Great post. I discovered after my divorce and going to therapy that the men i have seriously dated in my life have been avoidant to some degree. I seem to fluctuate between secure and anxious attachment. I also discovered that i tend to be a bit of a fixer and am attracted to/empathize with men with issues. Very very bad! Check out the book Attached if you want to read more about it.

The more I interact with men and the more I read, here and elsewhere, the more I wonder how many high value men there actually are out there? Doesn’t seem like many....also I’m 39, divorced last year. The high value men in my age group are all married I’m sure. Lots of avoidants, narcs, and other goodies in the dating pool at this age.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
